The first comment read:

Fine. Great. Build yourselves a track. Build two . Build ten! As long as it keeps your dumb asses off the road and keeps you from killing other people.

Oh! And one other thing: YOU pay for it and YOU insure it.

I'll be damned if MY tax dollars are going to pay for your stupid hobby. If you guys can afford all the asinine accoutrements that go on your ridiculous, useless metallic penises, you can afford to pay for the track and all that comes with it.

She probably races horses... much different?

The problem is the idiots in this state don't udnerstand the $ that it would bring in to the state. Tax dollars don't need to pay for it, investors do, and they will over time make more then their fair share of $ back.

Even an 1/8th mile track would be fine IMO, anything is better then nothing.

There's plenty of places it could be built, hell the old pratt and whitney airstrip in east hartford would be perfect, one layer of concrete and the whole thing is done.

I really wish CT dragway was there still...most of the people adding comments are idiots, comparing it to giving condoms to kids is REDICULOUS!...Its prolly some fat old lady...tell her no more tv/soap operas for her to watch b/c its makin her fat and stupid...

I bet it will help slow street racing down (im not against street racing, just against people racing in traffic/weaving(why do they even think thats racing???)), but wont put a stop to it, but it would be great if they brought a drag strip in anyways!...i hope it would be a 1/4 mile though...

Personally, I think putting in a track would do alot to help stop the street racing. At least give people a place to race legally. Have a no-time test and tune/grudge race night, just a win light displayed, it would be great to watch, and shut some of the haters up with.

Since this is CT they will build it but F it up somehow, like make the operation hours noon to 3PM and no modified vehicles because of noise.

If they did approve it how long do you think it will take to build? I am still waiting on Stew Leonards in Orange and my West Haven Train Station.

The people making the negative comments are most likely the same parents who let their little freaks dress up in the long blk trench coats and head off to school w/a arsenal of guns inside the trench and shoot the place up cause the damn parents are too busy attending wine-tastings every night instead of paying attention to what their idiot kids are doing w/their free time. Don't expect any potential race track support from 99% of today's yupsters. They like to bitch about everything, and they're all about themselves... WJ

That would be pretty cool, no brackets or anything, just line 'em up. The more like street racing they could make it, the less people would street race.

I agree with chef. If anyone else here is on any other web forums spread the word there also. I’ll send this over to clubgp.com north east section

My last English class our teacher had a project for the class to write a persuasive letter to the editor on any chosen topic and see if it gets published… Mine and another girl were the only two in the class to get published. Mine was CT Post. Lets see if I can do it again

That would be amazing! I dont think there would be enough room with new Cabellas though.

+1 on writing the letters.

They won't add it there. They want that area for big $$ commercial use. One of the big reasons why they closed the runway area is because of noise. The last thing anyone in that area would have is a track, but I would love to see an actual runway there so all the people that design and work on the engines could see the final product.

For the dragway, it needs to go in a rural area where no one would bitch about noise. The last thing we'd need is it to be closed on Sundays like Limerock.

Yeah, I know it will never happen. There is a couple other airports in CT that are also closed, that would be a prime location with the track surface being partially there already.

A couple of the smaller airports that are not doing so well could also probably be bought.

Maybe someone can just buy that street in the industrial park off exit 27. Then all the ricers will show up and wonder why they now have to pay to race.

Actually you need about 3/4 of a mile, 1/4 of a mile for the track, and a 1/2 mile for a shutdown, if you want to be able to have an event with top fuel cars.

Which, if you are going to build a 1/4 mile track, that should be the ultimate goal.

BUt like I said, even an 1/8th mile track would be better then nothing, alot of racing is actually going to that.

Camjag, you're all too right on that one. Better off with a 9mm though, they hold more rounds. Bullets are cheaper too
