thanks guys. jl, the only weight i lost is some weight of the tank and the weight of the lines i added a few things as well so it ended up not being a big loss.
as for the glide, i want to try somthing else see if it works
yes, it is solid roller but its set up more for spray so the converter kills it on motor the car leaves like a turd on motor but back halfs 31 mph!!

wj, it is a hughes power glide. dead and bear case trans brake 1.80 first gear th-400 pump. its the top gun from hughes i paid over 4500 for it, they now list for 43xx they are very nice trannies

wj, it has under 100 passes. it was on the car with my 402 which i got about 10-15 passes on, then it was on the car last year which i think i did 20-30 runs, then i did 6 runs this weekend. so under 100

Why not keep the tranny and change the converter? What's the breakdown of your best pass? Maybe you just need a bit more seat time. I mean a 1.36 is not shabby at all on a "tight converter" N/A. I mean the car reacted great to a 100 shot so what you gain on motor might be negated on the spray with a different converter.

danno, its not the converter and i went a 1.41 60' on motor for the best 9.7 @ 141.
however on the 100 shot i was just about maxed out gear/tire and rpm wise.
i got a fix for it tho from hp tuners i was stuck at 8,000 rpm. if i can rev it with the stock computer to 8,200-8300 im sure i can atleast get the car with this set up into the 8.8-8.9 range with the 100 shot.
