I got stiffed twice.
He paid me 150 both times I won the 11.5 class even though it was advertised 250 to win. Funny that Dave got 250 the 2 races he won even though there were the same # cars. I asked what happened to the race money that got rained out before the final and he said it goes to the banquet. Small tracks alway pull this same ****. Same thing at Seekonk speedway. If your in the click you get paid if not you get excuses. I just race cause I enjoy the rush. I am too old to let petty **** like that bother me.

Nothing special happend for me really Sunday. I don't have the slips with me, but I went 11.97 @ 115 with a 1.68 short time for my first pass (with another GTO from CT, we were the first two cars down the track to start the day). Then my second pass wasn't much better at 11.90 @ 115 with a 1.59, 60'. The 60' is there but nothing else is... everything felt healthy for sure. My second pass felt like my 11.29 passes or even better and then I got the slip... looking for excuses but nothing really comes to mind or works. Maybe it's time for the car to go to Slowhawk for a look over and retune considering it hasn't been touched since April of 2006! Don't know if it needs it the car feels like it always has but who knows, maybe I'm missing something.

Maybe the car just likes 40-50 degree air and the lovely DA at Atco... but then again I've gone 11.48-11.57 multiple times in 75* + weather a year ago at NED!

Great weekend of racing. My car was consistent yesterday with a 11.536 ,11.530 in qualifying with 1.58 60' on each. good for top qualifier and a bye in the 1st round. 2nd round got taken out by saturdays winner. I treed him but he drove around me and jammed on the brakes to run a 11.500 and beat me by .003 I ran a 11.57. My car was 50 lbs heavy today because of 3/4 tank of gas due to misjudging the fuel mileage on the ride up. I got 25 mpg on a 110 mile ride doing 75-80 the whole way. The final ended up with Dave Diaz agains the 67 big block mustang. Mustang redlighted and Dave broke out with a 48 for the win.
Dave and I are now tied for 1st in points. Good turnout and some very close races. Great seeing everyone up there !! Oct 4 is another double weekend for quick street. Cant understand why its not a 30 or 40 car field in Real street.

Thanks for the update. Sounds like a good placement of the indexes as most tracks go even numbers. We have an 11.50 in our Corvette Series...always 20+ cars.

That atco air and track is about 3 tenth's faster then you'd be anywhere else. That's one of the main reasons you don't see 1/'2 the jersey kids running anywhere else, or at any other time other then early spring and late fall, they don't want to do what you just did, get a reality check back to what the car really runs at a normal rack on a normal day.

Ted it was great racing and good times. but to many paper racers on here!!!! but i will force jason to run the next races!!! as i cant make any of them congrats on the top qual.. that guy that beat me ran a 7.09 1/8 mile on the last run sandbagging big time... my .077 light could not catch his pedel fest at the 1000ft mark... but a 20 car field would make for some fun racing and good times...

Very true. Even still though the car should have been somewhere around 11.40-11.50 all day especially with the 1.59 short time. Spider-webs in the cylinder from not racing since last November and apparently back to slow shifting as it looks from comparing time slips.. 2-3 shift must be killing it! I don't mind running at other tracks whether fast or slow, I just enjoy the seat time and all this means is... make the car a 10 second car at NED and I'll go even faster when at Atco! Sounds good to me

In regards to traveling, two weeks I'll be at Cecil County, then Atco in November for a couple GTO events! If time and scheduling permits maybe NED again or perhaps LVD since I haven't raced there in almost 4 years!

Seat time I will get again, but 60'-ing like I was I thought I was doing alright. My shift light works wonders I'll tell ya.. but anyhow it's over and done with now.

For good measure I FINALLY after over a year took out my MAF, which has just been sitting disconnected and inferring with better air flow. I also took out my catted mid pipes and I am having the Wideband Bung welded at work tomorrow... so no more cats! And last but not least I ordered a new air filter to try! It's a little shorter than the one I have now and I am going to angle it forward into the headlight cavity so the forced air will fit the entire filter instead of just two inches with the headlight out. Next Stop Cecil County!
