Thumbs up New PB at LVD yesterday!

THE CAR
2002 Z28 M6 - 400/367 SAE dynojet - LS6 heads, 224/228 581/588 113LSA cam, SLP lid and CAI, ported TB, Pacesetter LTs and ORY, Magnaflow catback, Moser 12-bolt with 4.10s, MN12 transmission, Pro 5.0 shifter, 3.5" aluminum driveshaft, adjustable torque arm and panhard bar, LCAs, SFCs, SLP line lock.

I run 17" SS wheels with Nittos on the street and stock 16" wheels with MT ET Streets at the track.

BACKGROUND
The only time I've been to the track with the current setup was back in the spring in similar weather at the same track, only there was a stronger headwind. I ran 12.0s and 12.1s all day at 115 mph, then cracked one 11.99 @ 116.01 with a 1.69 60', so I was happy but knew the car had more in it. The only change I made between then and now is that I bumped the limiter up from 6700 to 7000 and set the shift light to 6500 instead of 6400, but I hold it out a little bit longer now (probably shifting around 6700-6800).

YESTERDAY
Went up for a Jannetty Racing track rental day at Lebanon Valley again and knew it was gonna be a good day considering the high temps were mid-60s, sunny, and there was less of a wind than last time. My goal was to hit an 11.8 and trap 117, but I really just wanted some consistent 11-second runs since that's what the car should be doing.

I was third in line and was itching to get started, so I went out and on my first run, nailed an 11.996 @ 117.45 with a 1.722 60' spinning. The 11.996 exactly tied my best ET ever and the 117.45 is my best mph to date, so yeah, it was gonna be a good day. I gave it a rest and then went out in spurts of two runs at a time, giving the car a break after every two. I clicked off a bunch of PBs in a row, solid 11.9s all day, and all at 116-117 mph. I hit a new best 60' of 1.67 (and a few other 1.6s) and on my fourth run nailed a new best ET of 11.89, so I was thrilled with how the day went for me.

After the 11.89, things went downhill as my linelock stopped holding and I started spinning like a madman, but I was very happy because before that I hit new bests in pretty much every spot and hit my goals for the day. Below are a couple of my runs where I got new PBs.

Another interesting thing to note is that I was spinning a bit all day, even on the good 60' runs. I could feel it spinning quite a bit on every run (even earlier in the day before things got worse), but just staying in it seemed to work well. Next time I'll play around a little more with the tire pressure (ran about 12 pounds hot) and see if I can shave a little more off. I was launching between 4500 and 5000 depending on the run and would have no problem launching higher if it would hook up, but my buddy was at the line with me and confirmed that I was spinning quite a bit.

TIME SLIPS
(new PBs are bold)

1/8 MPH - 90.74
1000' - 10.068
1/4 ET - 11.996

Good runs Joe, but it might just be time to get the shocks on the car to help the wight transfer.

Was your best run the one after we drained the washer bottle?

Haha, that's a good question. To make you feel better I'll say yes! I still need to get the rest of it out, but I wanna leave little bit in there just in case. Remember, this still is a street car first and foremost.
