Default To much power

I have a qu about hp no the street. How much is to much for the street. I am building a built 408 with a v3 t-trim supercharger. I am thinking it will be to much to be a DD, but should be fun on the track !

Nah you can never have too much power. LOL!!! J/k. My buddie had a turbo 408 camaro that was a m6 and he could drive it everyday if he wanted too. It was real streetable. He made well over 850rwhp and was on pump gas. Granted it would spin the tires at 80mph but it was fun.

IMO...the trouble with too much hp comes in with an Automatic. My Z is over powered with 480 but you can have fun and control everything becasue it is a six speed.

My Silverado with an Auto is a problem. 468 rwhp, and if you nail it under around 35 mph it blows right by second gear and hits the rev limiter. The only solution is to put around 250 lbs in the back. Already run M&H drag radials full time and they wear out every 6 months.

you friends problem has nothing to do with the fact that he has an auto but the fact that either his shift tables are wrong in the tune or the 2-3 clutch packs are toasted.

No, its roasts the tires so hard on the street it blows by the shift point.

Just ran a best at the track Saturday and all is fine with traction. Shifts like a champ.

Having power is okay, knowing when and how to use it is the important rule here. My Nova has 400 ponies without the juice at the tires, and I know even with drag radials it can break loose badly, but knowing how much pedal you can get away with is your ace. Building a car with tons of power and never using it to the fullest extent on a track is kinda wasteful IMHO.

I drove a STS Ls1 Camaro making 505 rwhp for a couple of weeks and loved it. Very easy to drive. Smooth and plus it was on pump gas.

i think it depends on tires/ tranny/ susp etc. anything over 400 really can start to get hairy if your not going to put it down correctly.

You can never have too much power
The quest for horsepower is a never ending exploit of empty wallets and burnt rubber.

You can never have too much, but for a DD you can.

408 DD seems kinda rough.
