Strange issue with headlamps

Strange issue with headlamps My headlight motor went out on my 1999 formula the other day. I bought reman ones from discount auto parts and installed them. If i unplug one side (like the passenger side is unplugged now) the driver side will go donw and vise versa. I have never experienced this issue, and have searched the forum. My eyes are hurting from reading the stripped gear issue, as obviously this is not my issue. Anyone had this issue? Please help me as I am to sell this car next week.

If i plug both in, they dont go down. If i unplug the passenger side, the driver's side works fine. If i plug the passenger side back in, and unplug the driver side the passenger side does NOT go down now. Im so lost with this. Please help if you can....to the top please.
