Default wierd noise at idle

hey guys im hearing a rataling nise at idle sounds like a loose bolt or someting ne one have ne ideas or hearing the same noise

Probably belt tensioner. There are directions on here for rebuild, or I offer the rebuild replace service for $20 while you wait! :-)

so the belt tensioner going out would rattle

Can be. The grease from gm sucks in the tensioner. I would have to see it to make sure. Pull the belt and spin it and you can tell.

Right. Aside from a visual inspection, removing the belt and inspecting all moving parts is of no value. Except it is free assuming you have a wrench to pull the belt. I can hear the small voice "don't assume!"

Do you have a stethoscope?? I dont. Probably not free to get one either. Taking off your belt takes like 3 minute and is totally free to do. Then if its not a pulley or tensioner than you probably have a bad issue. Most of the time its the tensioner.

it could also be your alternator adjusting bolt is loose.....I give up
