Saving the SS hood!
pics starting from when i got it to now! lots of work have gone into it! all the foam is out! the previous owner filled it w/ "THE GREAT STUFF" you can see in the first pics underside is done and ram air is almost sealed... tomm it will be done then i'll start on the top side! as you will see it looks way better then when i got it! comment away!
also i'm pretty sure its set up for hoodpins and i'm trying to avoid them at all cost and trying to set it up for a stock hood set up. if you have done this or know it wont work please let me know.
when i got it
after a few days work!!
i'm hoping to get it to the body shop this fri and i'll keep this updated as i go !

to try and make it stronger is what i was told but what it did was make the fiberglass flex and bow up on the top side so had to go in and remove the most of it to get it back to the way its supposed to look.

after trying a bunch of chemicals around the shop to dissolve it and nothing working lol, i ended up using a gasket scrapper, razor blades, long hook picks, and what ever else i could get in there to get it out only took 3 days lol. and i just finished re sealin the ram air! and you can tell there was alot of foam as you can see in the ground in the pics and thats just what i havent cleaned up! tomm i'll be making the metal brackets to help strenghtn the hood latck bracket cause there arent any pre drilled and taped holes.

thats pretty insane. i dont have the patients for that lol. idk cause im no expert but may try adding some more fiberglass around the hinge in the back of it n it might strengthen it. or make a metal bracket to bolt in place behind the fiberglass to have the hood latch. BE CAREFUL WHEN CLOSING THE HOOD CAUSE I HAD A FIBERGLASS SS HOOD AND RIGHT IN THE MIDDLE OF THE SCOOP LINES A CRACKED FORMED UNDERNEATH THE PAINT!!! THE PAINT SHOP WOULDNT EVEN WARRANTY ME AFTER 3 DAYS I PICKED IT UP!!!
