Tail of the Dragon this spring
I suggest taking the Cherohala Skyway from Tellico Plains, TN to Robinsville, NC, and then head north.
If you need more infor, or suggestions, let me know. I've been on the dragon MANY of times.
To those coming from out of state, I warn you now, be careful. Many aren't used to the off camber turns, or changing elevations or reducing radius turns. It's easy to go in too hot and end up in trouble. Make sure your tires are in good shape, and you have good brake pads. Cops patrol the dragon a lot, but not so much on the skyway. On the skyway, I see speeds well over 90mph in several areas.
If you plan on pushing it, a good tire and pads, such as Hawk HP+ is recommended. Stock will probably be OK if you don't push it too hard.
Have fun!!!!

Where are you staying at while up here? If nothing else, I can point you to places to check out (sight see) and eat.

Thanks
If it was Friday, I could probably get off around 2pm and meet you guys.
Saturday is out completely. Plus it's 50% chance of rain. That's a LONG way to drive to be rained out. Why not push off the date till a time you can stay several days? Pigeon Forge / Gatlinburg is not far either (less than an hour), and make a nice vacation out of it. 50% chance of rain on Saturday = slow driving which might be dissapointing after such a long stretch.
First two pics are on the dragon courtsey; of killboy.com
Last pic is the Cherohala Skyway, which I think is 10 times more fun!
