Then you'll definitely love this area. I fish Toho and the rest of the Kissimmee Chain quite often as well as the Harris Chain. As far as saltwater fishing, there are several piers. Kayak fishing can be had all over the bay, and especially good down in Bradenton about 45 minutes south. The Gandy bridge area flats can be very good for Snook fishing at certain times of the year out around the mangroves.

If you like to fish you are in heaven in Florida.

Some scenic pics where I have done some fishing. Florida fishing is fantastic. I prefer salt water and in the first 2 pics I have caught some decent size fish off this island. In the third pic if you look close you will see a baby gator hanging around.

great pix man, especially the one with the "bass bait" swimming next to momma. i've had a run in with the gators during a fishing trip in the glades. they get real excited when the fish you catch thrash on the surface. word of advise there, stay in the damn boat! i am really getting excited about this move. my car sold on ebay, so i will be finishing that up, rebuilding the LT1 and be on my way hopefully.

You'll blend in well. You'd be suprised at how many people move to Florida and don't like fish or any seafood what so ever. Misguided and deprived of one life's treasures, they are. Means more for us!!!

Check out mafia-motorsports.com. That is a very good site to meet local guys. I am a member and it is like a family once you get to know people. I live in Hudson and it is right by spring hill. Im not a fan of spring hill myself for the most part but there is some nice parts of that area. Hudson is more country thats why I love it here. FIshing is great right off hudson or you can make tampa within an hour drive or north to homosassa/ crystal river for some excellent fishing. That is the place to live in my oppinion. check out Citrus county. Very country or lakeland area.

Skeet Skeet, where do you live in Hudson? I keep forgetting which side of County Line I live on now, I'm also in Hudson. Kinda hard habit to break after living in Hernando County for 12 years.

I don't remember who I met from Mafia Motorsports, but I talked to two guys I think out at OSW about two years back.

thanks for the info guys, i will be checking those places out too. though i seem to be leaning tword sarasota some. i am going to have to find a place to rent untill i get up on my feet. and thats proving to be a little tough since i own 4 dogs.i am taking a big chance moving there, i am pretty much driving down with 4 dogs, some funiture, $4-5k in cash and a little hope. i am nuts for doing this, but i am nuts to try and stay where i am at. forbes magazine just listed the town next to me as #2 in the nation as far as the worst cities to find a job. it fricken beat out DETROIT! i'll take that as a sign to move on i guess. well, i am off to get to work on pulling the LT1 out of my trans am and getting it rebuilt.

Sometimes I go up to 50, been going less since I had a class this semester up at the Brooksville campus. Yeah I live right off of County Line now. I can't remember the car it was at least two years ago I think, they gave me a Mafia Motorsports sticker though and told me to check out the website, I can't even remember now if I registered over there or not.

My car comes out to play occasionally. Tampa Bay is a great area to live and you can get a great deal on a house now.

Sarasota got hit pretty hard in the housing troubles, so you can buy homes here on the cheap as there are a ton of foreclosures. Good luck finding a decent machine shop around here though...
