I would check on the cost of a rebuild. Its hard for me to recommend buying a used LT1, as the last TWO used LT1's I've received from the Tampa Bay area have been bad. Its hit or miss, I bought a used motor from a member on here that has been great for two years already, but then I've also had some duds.

For a pricing reference I paid $1900 shipped for a 15K miles 4 bolt main motor, with forged rods/pistons, hotcam, and longtubes. I wouldn't pay $1300 for a 96k motor! You could get your shortblock freshened up and assembled for $1k or less and be way better off, so long as a reputable shop did the work.

I found my lq4 (0.60)375 with forged pistons and arp bolts and studs fully balanced and assembled with custom cam for 1200 on craigs list fort meyers. Then i got c&c ported 243 ls6 heads from patriot performance on craigs list space coast with everything brand new unassembled for 650.A few weeks later i got a 90mm fast intake for 600 on the board so for 2450 and some drive time i have a pretty good lil motor so keep searching and you will find something
