Default Turkey Rod Run

I go to the turkey rod run every year in Daytona with my dad. Anyone else going? I remember in the past sometimes would meet up and ride out together.

I'm going on Black Friday. It keeps me away from all the crazy people. Hopefully I'll score some nice parts (like the Fikse FM-10s I got for $400 a few years ago). We should make this thread about deals we have seen while we were down there incase some people havent seen them. Or have people post up what they are looking for and if someone comes across it, post up the row it was in

Good idea Bandit. I want to stay for the night stuff, but in all the years we have gone I have never been able to get my old man to stay out there that long since we normally go early in the morning. I will likely go saturday.

Can you elaborate a bit about what goes on in the evenings?

I'm planning to drive over Friday morning from the Tampa area. But if the nightly events are worth experiencing, I could drive over Thursday afternoon and get a room for the night.

TIA.

Since I work on Friday, I will probably go on Saturday. I haven't been for a few years.

The evening 'cruise' festivities occur on AIA in the vicinity of Bellaire Plaza.
Can't discuss anything about 'street races' as I know nothing about that.

I saw that, too. Overall, for such a huge show, very little LS presence, especially in the swap area. I guess LS Fest is the place to be for all thing LSx. Being that this the Turkey Rod Run, it definitely seemed few have embraced technology.

My impression of the swap meet was that I've determined I'm not a swap meet person. Acres of rusty junk, crappy Chinese tools and plenty of new and old memorabilia that I personally have no interest in. It's amazing how much garbage people hold onto.

With regard to the car show, because of the shape o the infield, there's virtually no grid system, making it difficult to walk any kind of logical pattern without constantly backtracking. In my opinion, it would be much more enjoyable if the car show were organized according to interest. GM muscle cars, Mopar, Ford, rods, rat rods, antiques, hydrids, etc.

Saw a 139K 07' 5.3 for $1699
Saw a few decent ls setups, one of the vette parts guys had an ls7 on a palate in his trailer, unpriced. Guess if you have to ask:::::::::

Really is tiring trying to sift through the bs there to find the good stuff,& to try to navigate to every row, especially near the end.

.
he had 2 of them, was asking 11k for full swaps. wiring, ecu, pedals, all accessories etc. no transaxle. had some good prices on some other stuff, i took a card.

i went saturday, got there late, but i did score a good deal on passenger quarter and rad support for my 55 chevy. that alone made trip worth it.

i went to get food afterwards and stumbled on the cruise in, wound up staying there for a few hours since i missed the whole car show section during the day.
