Hey Central Florida Peeps...... Thinking about making the biggest decision of my life, and I'm 45.
I've been a corrections officer for over 21 years and am thinking of transferring from PA to Central Florida. The closer to the Coleman Federal Correctional Complex the better.
I'm not looking to buy a house. I want to put a fifth wheel camper on an acre of high ground with utilities. Eventually putting up a huge pavilion over the camper that would also cover my two TA's, like a 40x60.
So, South of Ocala, west of Orlando, East of Tampa. I'm thinking of coming down there in early November to check things out. Folks keep saying how cheap land is down there but when I go onto realty sites I sure as hell don't see any. Any pointers would be appreciated.

Well what I'm looking for is specific info. Like, did he buy a house for a song. Just buy land, renting a trailer in a trailer court. Things that can help me decide if this is a feasible place to live. Appreciate your reply. Maybe land will become much cheaper after the summer of Zika is here.

If you have a fifth wheel now, I suggest staying in some RV resort short term to scope out the areas of interest. When I moved away from my home town(in Florida) couple hours south, I stayed in my RV for a few months just to get into the area. Glad I did. It gave me time to get to know where to be and where not to.
Need to agree, a couple years ago MLB was cheap, but it has gone back up. That being said there are still some deals down in South Palm Bay almost to Sebastian.
