One of my techs runs 10.7x's fairly consistently with a stock 4L60E. It has been replaced once or twice as both trannys were maybe 50K to 70K mile units. Another car ran consistant 11.0's on a bone stock 4L60E until the stock 3.23 10 bolt went away.

Hey Mike whats up. That one of your techs needs to run Lou at OSW once you tune Lou`s car with his new setup, that could be a very good race.

My tranny also went south not long ago so I had it fully built by Dave Burgess a local tranny builder that also races his Nova. He put all the ugraded parts into it that are available for these trannys. So far so good this thing is holding up and shifts hard as hell.

I have not ran the car or had it retuned by Mike as of yet because we just did the rest of the work on the car this past weekend. I have no doubt that is will be deeper into the 10's

Mike I will be giving you a call to get the car tuned once again.

I am game for that when the car gets tuned and I can put more seat time in.

awesome. i am glad there are other guys breaking 10s with these trannys. though it still sounds like its more like a rental of the tranny when you start racing it lol.

That is funny but true that is why I have a spare sitting on the floor just in case. But I would still need to get it built for another rental period.

I have about 45 10 secont passes between my stocker and my FLP.
The FLP is still alive but my motor isn't.
I had about 35 on the stocker before it blew.
Did the vaccuum mod and shift kit and had great success for a long time. (2 1/2 years)

I forgot in a buddy's car I rana 10.9 on a 100 shot a few months ago using a FLP level 4 4L60.
That is the cars only 10 sec pass and was done by me.
He ran a 11.1 that non driving ****. (dosen't launch is correctly on the ET streets)

BTW I also trapped 127-130 damn dear every pass in my car.
I have a T400 setup in another car I use to run that is just waiting for my 4L60 to blow.
Within a month I will have a 410 motor and 4200 stall behind the 4L60 to see what it can do NA.
If it takes the abuse then the 3800 stall goes back in and the big shot of juice. Maybe by the end of the year I can have a 9 sec 4L60, but if not the T400 is siting waiting to be abused.

stage 4 flp? I'll take that sucka. I think the key to longevity is changing the fluid often, adding a shift kit, and having a trans cooler.

I agree with you on this 100%. The only reason my other tranny died is because I spray through the shifts. I added a TCI cast pan with drain plug that I drain the pan every time I change my oil and also have cooler with a shiftkit and still spray through the shifts.

I think this tranny will still last longer than the orignal.

no drifting!

ok this post needed to be made. i think too many guys give up on the 4L60e. its not appropriate tranny for someone that bracket races or puts 100-150 passes a year. but its far from fragile. esp with proper maintance. i am a **** about my tranny fluid changes.

i have always felt that 10s in a full weight 4L60e is no problem. ofcourse if you race often, it needs to be pulled and freshened up every year.

well, i'm just one of the slow ones. 11.67 in the wife's car completely stock trans and converter. with an overrated 175 shot(put 91 rwhp). then my car, on a completely stock motor and 200 n2o with the only mods are lid, filter and bassani tru-duals when it went 11.81. i now have 4.10 gears and py3400e converter. we'll see what happens tomorrow at bradenton.
