machine shop close to Jax., FL Where is the best (closest within 200 miles) places to take my ls1 block for machine work (familiar with blown applications) and my stock crankshaft to be keyed. I live in Jacksonville, Florida. Any recommendations?

There are a few machine shops around the Gainesville/Ocala area. Try Rollins Automotive, as they can tell you what shops they use for their bottom end machine work. 352-335-7223.

Actually BLP does not do engine machine work. They specialize in race carburated fuel delivery parts and systems. In the same building is CRE, or Crume Racing Engines and the number is 407-649-1789.
I use them pretty exclusively and they have done several dozen LS1's for me. Probably on the higher end as far as pricing goes, but the quality is top notch and I have yet to have an issue and they have also been able to take care of any issues that pop up when the components are in their hands.
