Default pacesetter rusting here in FL

I would like to get LTs and true duals soon, but if I have to go stainless it won't be for awhile. From personal accounts do you guys think pacesetter coated LTs can last 5+ years in gainesville (I'm going to UF this fall.) Or have you guys had problems with coated headers??

I'd say so. If they can handle the salt/crap they put on the roads in the NE area of the country in the winter time, they'll handle FL just fine.

they will LAST but will become rusty in a matter of weeks. its just surface rust. to rust a hole through a primary would take 8-10 years i bet. if you want them to last 4 years i think its no problem. just dont freek out with the surface rust right away.

Agreed. Little surface rust, no a ton but enough to notice.

gator's 99TA is right. I've had coated Jet-Hot's for about 3 years now and they have some surface rust on them, but very minimal. They should have no problem lasting quite a few more years before I start having problems with them.

I appreciate the responses guys. I may have my duals set before I go to college (either that or a wussy ~3000 stall + cooler.)

Just one more question, would I really save money by getting a y-pipe over an x? Neither will be catted, but if I get the y I need an entire cat-back and with duals I can practically have a shop fab the whole thing and just buy mufflers.

My Pacesetter coated LT's have been in for about 3-year? (Give or take) When ever they came out on the market. The only rust is where the AC drips on the right header & it just like they said before surface rust.
