I am in slocala......as well as another guy here Docgto. The great thing is your an hour or less in some cases from daytona, orlando, tampa, jax, and gainesville and the gulf. Real nice horse country for sure but its also growing like crazy
we keep ourselves busy. Its not much of an fbody place, mostly RICE and stangs. Only 40 minutes from Gainesville Raceway too

I work in Ocala (live in Gainesville) and if horses or old people are your thing, you've come to the right place! 
I seriously couldn't tell ya good or bad, but hear there's stuff to do around here, and a few car cruise spots.
I thought about living here for work, but having the track 25 minutes away beats the hell out of 1 hour!

Welcome When I was a kid I bitched about Ocala being boring. I was gone for 15 years in the Military and school and now I'm back. All I can say is WOW. It has grown leaps and bounds. I love it here now. It is great for the kids and I can be in Tampa, Orlando, Gainesville, Jax in no time! The best dragway in the U.S. is 35 minutes away and they have a new roadcourse there to! We have a nice, safe, out of the way, street race scene here and a fair share of nice American muscle as well. Plenty of ricers to lay the smack down on if need be! I do know one thing, if you need a great Chiropractic Physician, you are golden. I also take care of a lot of police officers and deputys in town so I have a real nice layer of protection if needed

Plenty of opportunity here - job wise. My group of friends that I hang out with know a lot of people so we can be of help in that respect! Let us know . . .

I've lived in Ocala for about 8 years, and it's not that bad...as everyone else said it's within an hour and some change to anything else. It's grown a lot and still growing. There used to be a lot of sat. night races and hang out spots, not so much anymore...so we usually head from house party to house party for fun.

i used to live in Marion County, but i havent been back in almost 3 years. I tell ya, after being out here in San Diego for the 3 years i look forward to the more relaxed laid back life style that is Ocala. There used to be alot of muscle car guys and cruises, from what i can remember. And yeah you are really close to everything else. Do they still have the Turkey Rod at Daytona in Nov?

Turkey Rod Run is still held Thanksgiving weekend, the World Street Nats are the last weekend in October, and Super Chevy Show happens within a 3 hours drive a few times a year (Bradenton in Feb, Gainesville in October).
Cruising scene died a while back in Gainesville, and I wish there was more going on. Track still upholds my outlet.
