What about say, 98 cars that have the ls6 intake, with no egr? I have the fittings for the air pump, and egr stuff, but no place for the egr on the ls6 intake. how the hell do i get around that??

Yeah there would be a LOT of people in this state spending a LOT of money to get their cars smog legal.

We could start a petition and send it to all of the representatives.

Even high-flows can hurt turbo cars. Not so much with NA/Supercharged cars but any restriction after the turbine can seriously affect spool and to a lesser extent power. Then there's problems with leaded race gas and with melting cats with high EGTs/ rich mixtures. None of these are total game-enders for average NA cars but they really screw over the turbo guys.

I really feel sorry for you turbocharged, supercharged, and spray folk... Are there any N/A guys that have tossed around the possible idea of just having a second exhaust system and tune (stock obvoiusly) to swap in just to get the inspection and then put back to your normal setup? How much could a plain stock exhaust run you, really? I mean, who the hell wants'em? You could probably go to a couple junkyards and find all the pieces for a good price. Then tune it to pass and save that tune just like the exhaust for the next time your inspection is due. Sounds like alot of work but, Not really that much money if your just running heads, cam, and simple bolt ons.

All you guys joking about getting the 'hook-up' I hope are aware of the serious implications there... My question though is, would it technically be illegal to test somebodies work around just to see if it will pass whatever standards are pushed??? Like, will one of you guys working at a shop be able to just run the test unoffically for us? haha...

Plus, this is 2009 we're talking about... thats over 2 years away,... I'm sure there will be plenty of ideas and work-arounds if this really goes into effect.

I wonder if st. johns county will be in there... No major cities here really, and alot of redneck-ville in the west part of the county.

this is why I kept my stock ****, looks like I will put it on only if they say something about it, if not I won't change. If I would have to change, the stock crap would only be on for a day.

U KNOW ITS GONNA BE FUNNY WHEN I GO FOR MY FIRST EMSSIONS TEST AND THE GUY FIRES UP THE T\A...

I MEAN ON A COLD START THE ******* THING SPITS A UNBURNT FUEL OUT THE BACK, I MEAN YOU CAN ACTUALLY GET YOUR FEET A LITTLE DIRTY BY STANDING MY THE EXAUST. I DONT SEE ANYONE BELIEVEING THAT MY CAR IS LEGAL

BUT I GUESS IN THEORY IF THEY EVER DID A SNIFFER TEST IN FL COULDENT YOU JUST GO INTO HP TUNERS AND TEMPORALLY SET YOUR TARGET AFR TO SOMETHING REDICULOUSLY LEAN

From what it sounds like, if they are pre- OBDII, they are exempt

If is anything like the law in Nevada then they do a sniffer and OBDII testing and if your car is over 25 years old you are exempt. I guess they test for different things on the older cars that don't have OBDII
