Default Insurance and tag question

OK, I moved from Georgia last November, well I am finally getting to bring my car down here in the next couple of weeks. I never registered the car this year b/c I wasnt driving it. now that being said, would it be ok for me to drive from my apt to my insurance agency which is like 4 miles away, with no tag as I have already taken that off. with nothing but my insurance for my other car in hand as well as the title for the car. now here is another thing the title is a GA title. and then drive from the insurance agency to the tag agency. should I have a problem as long as I am driving properly. it has all the mods as in my sig. so it is loud. I just dont want to get a ticket right away, I figure at least I should be doing somthing illegal to deserve a ticket. well more illegal than driving withoug insurance. I know cops probably hear that all the time. I am going to get a tag or insurance right now. haha. let me know
thanks
Wesley

I would recommend putting the expired Georgia tag on there if you still have it, that way it looks a LOT more normal than no tag at all.

Put the expired georgia tag on. Driving an unregistered motor vehicle = misdemeanor offense NOT A TICKET. Although you would recieve a ticket it's a criminal ticket for a court date. Putting the expired tag on would mean driving with an expired tag for more than 6 months.....which is not criminal unless it's your 2nd offense. If you haven't gotten a ticket for expired tag more than 6 months then you'll just get a ticket and nothing criminal. Not having insurance is also just a ticket and not criminal. driving without a tag on is like putting a huge bullseye on your car and would be criminal. At least you have some proof with a tag on that it was registered in georgia and you just haven't renewed it in awhile.

Thanks for the insite. I appreciate it. I dont need trouble right now. so after discussing the situation with the guy delivering my car. I will just take a day off of work and we will trailer the car to the insurance company, and then trailer it to the DMV. this way I dont risk anything.
thanks

Don't pay a Florida rip-off tag agency to do anything. Get the title transfer paperwork from any local courthouse. The problem is getting the police to verify the vin since you can't drive it to the station. Maybe they will send someone out to you.
After you have that done, just call any insurance company, ir geico, state farm etc, on the phone and insure it yourself.
After that go with documents to same court house and get your own tags.
Easiest thing would be to tag and insure it in Georgia so you can drive it to local police department in Florida.
