I am not sure if I read it correctly orn not, but I believe it says the california-like emissions will be for 2009 + cars. Maybe there was something else that I missed. So everyone who has their cars hooked up the way they arew now should not have a problem. That is if I read this correctly.

This won't affect older cars, so there's no need for anyone to soil their shorts. There already is legal precedent stating that whatever mods you have prior to emissions legislation, you are grandfathered in. Only new cars sold as model year 2009 and newer would be required to meet this legislation. This may sound bad to anyone set on buying the 2009 Camaro or Corvette, but does anyone think that has stopped us power hungry folk before? The aftermarket rules baby, and I don't know about you guys, but I intend on modding my rides 'till I'm bolted into a casket. We emission tested cars and sold certified kits before, we'll just keep doing the same thing after '09. Thanks to our SEMA membership, we get great help with legal issues and how we can work within the limits of the law while not short-changing ourselves with our passion for speed and power. POWER TO THE PEOPLE!!!

Us non-emission cars might be granfathered in, I hope. If not, we're fucked.

You are...only '09 and up cars will need to meet the regs. But, as before, there will be emission exempted products available for '09-up vehicles...same as in Cali. It'll just add some more cost to our hobby, which is a bummer, but it's better than being stuck driving in the slow lane.

We most defenetily aren't the only countries with emmisions. In japan they have the most extreme inspections ive seen, not only do they check emmisions but they inspect the entire vehicle every 2 years past its 3 year birthday, the inspection is so bad and costly that Japanese Nationals generally get rid of their cars once they are 3 years old to avoid it.

In Italy, now mind you i lived in Sicily, the "most third world" area of the country, and even there in order to legally drive your car in the major cities you had to have an emmision sticker.

The state is putting the press on new car manufacturers, i do not think this will affect the most of us.

And if you really wanna place some blame, forget about Floridas governor, you can thank Al Gore and his bleeding heart liberal global warming conspiracy for all of this.
