hogan arrested !!
I'm still not changing my stance from earlier though, he fucked up and he fucked up good.
I've seen the drifting videos.
I don't think car control is in the kids vocabulary. If there was proof that he went to some driving schools or something like Skip Barber then maybe you could justify giving a 17 yr. old a powerful car like that, but where is the experience at that age? Its non-existent. At 17 I had a v6, 5 speed, rear drums, no ABS, no stability control, etc.... it was enough to learn and not get into major trouble. When the day comes that I have kids and its time to drive, I'm not going to strap them into a 1000 hp car like this kid is driving around. I'll give them something they can learn, and still live hopefully after mistakes in the process. The kid will not and is not going to die. Actually he was moved yesterday to a Vet hospital. He will never be the same at all but he is not going to die.
And again with a .05 BAC that is not legal DUI (yes I understand he is under 21 but who never had a beer before 21) and I am sure anyone that has 1 to 2 beers at dinner has driven with a .05 BAC level.............your not drunk at that point or anywhere near close. Again this is not a alcohol related crash. Its a "Im a dumb ****" related crash.
It was him hitting the gas on wet roads and it wound up traggic. I drive on that street daily, there is no way he was doing 100 or even close. I would guess about 60-70 at the point where the car lost it. More than likely hit boost at that speed and the roads where very slick that day (I know I was a few streets away and was slidding around when my car hit boost). He was dumb for doing what he did but his pasenger (over 18) was just as dumb for not wearing a seat belt. Nick has his on and the crash impact was on the driver side and he walked out with minor injuries.
Don't think that I think he needs to be "let go" or not punished.....he needs to be. However trying him as a Adult for a max of 5 years is just not right. He had more fault then anyone but some blame goes back on the passenger for not wearing a selt belt.
Also ponder this.......only two people were over the age of 21 that day. John and the kid driving Hulks Viper. So I am sure one of them bought the beer that they all drank and knowing got into that car (which has way to much HP for driving that day) and drove on the wet streets were it raind all day long for hours on and off. Yet he still didnt wear a seat belt. So doesnt some fault go back on him?

We can all say that but if you have lived life the way that family has or as long as they have. You and your kids as well would be drivng nice cars and I am sure one or two high HP ones as well.
and from the fox website...
February 8, 2007: Hogan is pulled over and ticketed in Dade County, for driving 57 mph in a 30 mph zone. Adjudication is withheld in the case.
April 25, 2007: Nick Hogan is pulled over and ticketed for driving 106 mph in a 70 mph zone in Osceola County.
June 26, 2007: Hogan is convicted on speeding charges from April incident in Osceola County, and he receives four points on his driver's license.
August 10, 2007: Pinellas Park police stop Hogan for speeding in a construction zone. Officers say he was driving 82 mph in a 45 mph zone when he was pulled over, and he was not wearing his seat belt.
Sunday, August 26: A yellow 1998 Toyota Supra driven by Nick Hogan crashes along Court Street in downtown Clearwater. Investigators say the car spun out of control and hit a palm tree backwards. Both Hogan and his friend, who was in the passenger seat, are flown to Bayfront Medical Center.
Who the **** said he did? Not me.
I also never said he wasnt speeding. The posted limit on that street is 40mph. But judging by where the car lost contol, how wet it was out that day, and how much traffic there is on that road at that hour (only exit out of the beach on a Sunday right bebefore sun down). I am willing to bet that car never got to 70mph but somewhere close to 60 or so mph.
As I said I hope he gets punished but only to a degree. His passenger had is on faults as well that could have prevented all of this drama that has followed. I agree he needs is licence suspended for a few year, some big fines, and a lot of community service.
This is his first criminal offence and it is for recless driving which I have never heard of anyone getting 5 years in prison for. They are just trying to make a example out of him and its rather sad IMO.

whoa killer, i think someone needs a chill pill.
all that matters is - he has a terrible driving record (one that he brags about), and this time he was drinking underage, driving recklessly, and paralyzed/put his friend in a coma.
im not saying he needs the death penalty or anything. but he should def. have to pay steep fines, restitution to the family, and a bunch of other dumb **** that the law makes celebrities do. like public service anouncements letting everyone know how much of a dumb ******* spoiled brat he his.
and his passenger didnt have any faults in this accident. Sure, he wasn't wearing his sealtbelt - dumb move. but the driver is responsible for everyone in his vehicle. When someone gets in my car, i make sure i tell them to put on their seatbelt if they dont do it right away.
on another note, my wifes father grew up and went to school with Hulk and im am sorry for them.

LOL.......I like how you can link attitude to the car I own.
I can say that is the dumbest thing I have ever seen posted.
And to all those who say "its the passengers fault because he wasn't wearing a seatbelt (especially in a car like that)" ,
Its YOU who need the lesson in driving, its the DRIVERS responsibility to make sure every person in their vehicle is wearing a seatbelt and obeying the LAW.
