Yes, two of those turnovers placed Florida at their own 1 yard line, but their defense couldn't stop my local high school team's offense. I believe this is one of those match ups where if they were to play 10 games it would end up being 5-5 or 6-4. All in all Florida was outplayed. I mean how many career high stats did Michigan's offense make that game? Like 5 between 3 players?

On another note. The worst call of the game had to be the ineligible receiver down field call on Florida when they were on Michigan's 5 yard line. The Tackle was CLEARLY at the line of scrimmage when the ball was thrown. Even then, they still have a few yards of leeway. Moot point though since Florida did score two plays later.

What are you disagreeing with? It sounds like you are pretty much saying the same thing I did. The only thing I would have to add is that yes Mich outplayed Florida, but Florida pretty much beat themself in this match. Mich showed up to play whereas I think only 2 of the Gators showed up to play, the rest looked like they were still hung over from too much partying the night before.

What I am saying is that Florida DIDN'T beat themselves. They got beat. Would that happen each time these two teams played if they played each other again, probably not. But Florida got beat, they didn't beat themselves. The secondary IS that horrible, had been all year. I saw how bad they were when I was watching the Western KY game in person. They give too much cushion on zone coverage, and can't play man to save their life. The safeties ALWAYS get confused on who covers who, and always lose awareness of where they are compared to the receivers on the field.

You might be right, it just looked like a lot of stupid mistakes. Had they not been made, they might have had a better chance. This year I have seen them play, and I have seen them fall over. I just attributed it to inexperiance, but how does that account for when they play well?

Either way, next year is another season and maybe with some growing up they can be a more consistant team. The defense needs some serious help.

It goes both ways my friend. Sure, could of been a different game if Florida didn't make a mistake here and there. But.....what would have happened if Michigan didn't fumble on the 1 yard line....TWICE.

I bolded the main part of their defense's problem. You have to remember....this is IA football, they are all good/great players as far as physical ability goes. It's that awareness you gain from experience that puts you in the right place at the right time that makes the difference on defense.

Good post..and oh so true..

I am a gator fan and get mad as hell when they lose, but I also know they are very beatable

I knew once Michigan started throwing the ball around Florida was in trouble. There secondary has been bad all year, and they coudn't get pressure on Henne.. He had all day to sit back and hit his targets. I knew Florida would score there points, they have all year. It was the defence that looked bad.

Hopefully next year the defence will get better, or they could be in the same boat..

Thanks for restoring my faith, there are some really good football fans in here that happen to be Gator fans also. I hate tunnel visioned fan boys.
