Default I wrecked.

Well I just got back home from wrecking my Formula. Bald tires and wet roads are fun untill you hit a tree. I am to blame and there is no excuse. I shall have pictures up tomorrow night. I lost it at about 50mph and went into a median hitting a tree with the front right quarter panel(passenger side). Mechanicaly everything is fine. The cosmetics are just the front bumper and passenger quarter panels and passenger rim up front. Thats my take, I shall look into it more in the morning. I'm sure there is more damage. I wouldn't be surprised if a few members saw the aftermath for them selves in person driving by. I was on JohnYoung Parkway right before the 528. There is good coming from this believe it or not. I am basically getting my front redone for free, sorta. I already had previous damage when I bought the car on the front bumper. So I guess it's for the better. If for some reason they total it, then I shall just pay the $3,700 that I owe on it off and get something new. Here are some pictures of the car before the wreck.

That does suck, but it could've been way worse. Is it only the paint on the front end? The hood doesn't look touched...

Those pictures are before the wreck. It was just the paint basically before the wreck but now it's a little worse. Pictures should be up tomorrow.

sorry to hear it... I played around with the bald tires thing... and its not worth it... there is alway someone somewhere selling a set of wheels/tires with tread on them for cheap.

Hell I have set for sale, I have put up and no one jumps on.

Glad you are ok, but it doesnt look that bad. OK so it needs a fender. It doesnt look that much worse than before. Dismount the tire and clean out the crap around the lip, and pick up a used fender for $50. Install it yourself and bolt back up all the things that got bumped loose. I doubt you are going to get them to total that. The nice part is now you can get that front bumper taken care of.

I would guess you have about $500 damage at the most. Less if you do the work and just have someone paint it.

I don't think they will total it either. I am letting my insurance fix everything so really it's kind of a good deal ( I have full Coverage). It's like getting a new car once they are done.

don't have a formula front bumper, but the body shop is supposed to have
the ws6 one that iI saw there. Let me see if the body shop still has it
upstairs. They were supposed to keep it, because I knew someone that
was looking at the time.

could just be the angle of the picture, but from the picture of the passenger side, it looks like you'll end up with some suspension damage. as a minimum, the lower control arm slid inward (this is where the adjustment poinbts for alignment are anyway). so, if you are lucky, that's all it did. if not, then it could have bent the spindle and/or the lower ball joint as well.

i know this as that's what happened to me. and i run a suspension/alignment shop as well.

I think you are still ok. I doubt they will total it. It is not that bad. The good thing is that it looks like the nose was damaged in the accident too, so you will probably get it all fixed on this one claim.

If they do total it, I would buy it back if I were you. That is an easy enough fix. I still think that with some elbow grease and ebay parts you will be under $500.

Dont you have some extra lower front suspension laying around someplace, Robert??
