thinking of moving to... homossa fla...what do you guys think of this area i found a pimp brand new house 4 br, 3 bath, 2 car garage that i might rent by myself for 1200 or split the rent with my boy thats great bad thing is i would need a job and be making an entire life change to move down there from what he told me it is about 1 hr north of tampa by1 + hr west of orlando i have a bs in medical science i have done telecomm/tech saled, pharma sales, so i have the resume and would work at a gym until i found prfoessional emplyment but if you guys could give me some feedback re the area jobs cost of living, etc anything you might think would be helpful for a person that has no idea about the area it owuld be greatly appreciated thanks alot!!!! by the way the weather up here suks so dont ever move north.....
Rent is cheaper were i live in port saint lucie.You can rent the same house for $950 and there opening a place called torry pines that does medical research and the golds gym i go too is always looking for help.CVS is a good place to work down here they start ***.managers off at $33,000 . you can look on line @ TC Palm.com which is treasure coast paper and the track is about 1/2 away.

Homosassa isn't a place to start a career honestly. It's a small town and pretty rural, like you said driving to tampa wouldn't be the best its an hour away.
Port Saint Lucie is near Orlando, about 200 miles away from Homosassa lol.
I love it to death but its not a place to start a career/family but more of a place to retire.

There probally a lot of rent to buys here in psl.Its on the east coast just north of west palm beach.Moroso Motorsports Park has a 1/4 mile track,road course,super cross and a gocart track.The gym has it share of hot girls.I think i've seen they hire personal trainers starting at $31,000. The new house's around here are going for between $139,000 to$179,000 w/a pool thats a 3bd 2bth 2 car garage. It Does'nt get cold here its 76 here today and the hottest i've seen it here in the 7yrs i've been here is 93 with a sea breeze.
If you are looking for somewhere really quiet, then Homosassa is good, couldn't tell you about jobs though, just know that its not crazy there, all my customers up there have been nice courteous people. Nearest track at that point is probably Gainesville. Good luck on whatever you choose, it is nice to drive the car all year long without worrying about rust or ice.

Homosassa is a great little coastal town. We go scalloping out there every year. Like what was said previously though, it is rather small and I'm not sure what job opportunities would be presented there. I can tell ya though, if you like bay scallops, that's the place to be. Good luck w/ wherever you end up!
My brother worked there at the new power plant they're building there ... pretty desolate area, but, I would imagine it will improve with time. Compared to the rest of Florida, real estate is still obtainable and the cost of living is much better/lower.
