I bought a creeper yesterday. Fertilizer indeed.

In my garage the air handler is down below, not up in the attic. Someone told me to put a vent in there to get some A/C into the garage, but we haven't been spending time in the garage cause its full of car parts. We have a pool table out there, my mother refuses me moving that into the house so I can get the car in the garage.

Does that sound like a viable idea though? If the air handler is in the garage and not attic, could people put a closable vent into it?

I have a air handler in the garage and could cut a hole, but that would take A/C from the house so it wasn't an option for me. Definitely an option though.

sure do. easy enough to vent it out of a window or if you want to get spiffy, cut a hole in the wall like a dryer vent and hook the vent hose up to that. These aren't cheap units either... I dont know, I wouldn't mind having AC but, I opt'ed for three $15 box fans and I dont have any problems with tnem. Working in the heat sucks but, is bearable. Now, working in the cold, when your hands are all numb, that really sucks!

No you should never cut a hole in the plenum in the garage because the fumes will go into the house . I think its against the housing code.

This is florida we're talking about.... land of Rednecks!!! only codes we know are lotto numbers and nascar numbers!...

J/K, I dont know if there is a code issue there... I was implying more of a sealed pipe through the wall with a dryer vent cover on the outside (to keep critters from coming in). Anyway,.... never good to cut unnecessary holes in walls, period... hehe..
