truck coils

Are they worth getting and do they give you a hotter spark.I had a vacume leak and I checking out my vacume lines and noticed my coil pack harnesses are real brittle, there 10 years old. So I figured just get a new set.

Many people are running/using stock coils and are making great power, 800+ rwhp. Unless you can get a great deal on them, there is no real need to upgrade to the truck coils.

All my stock coils are still fireing what do you think just buy new harnesses.

98 coil harnesses are unique. I bet if you unwrapped that black tape like stuff, the wires would be fine. Then you could re-wrap them in some new material.

It's got a silver wrap on the wires I removed some.

Best thing to do is get the car done, and then if you have issues with the spark getting blown out, then upgrade to the truck coils. That being sayed, I jumped the gun and got them anyways, because I witnessed by buddys car blowing the spark out on the dyno. The truck coils where his fix. I didn't want to schedule a dyno session/tuning for my own car, then have to do it over because of a spark issue.
