Oiling for turbo's

I'm assuming I get the oil for my turbo's from oil sending unit located at the back of the block.

Does anyone know what fitting I need? I would like to use a mechanical gauge since I'm doing a swap and will not be using the electric gauge.

T?? If you need two supplies you can put a T there and one run to each turbo. And run your returns back to the pan.

cracker Oct 15, 2008 12:20 AM

The line is pressurized so put the "T" wherever you would like.

Be sire to do your research, in relative talk, turbo's do not need a lot of oil. The amount will depend on the size of the turbo itself, IE a 61mm will require much less oil than a 91mm.

Twin 35's, just a little street car project... I think the return is a #10 or #8

I am going to run a fitting under the stock oil pressure sender instead of the one people are showing next to the oil filter housing. Unfortunalty i was only able to find a company in england that sells it

I am using the oil line supply fitting from A&A Corvette for the Vortec super charger.
It replaces the brass oil gallery plug on the front side of the block and has a male -4 fitting, about $20.

Is a -10an too big for a return on the turbo's?

for the high side I think i'm just going to tap above the oil filter like Cracker showed.

From what I have researched, a -10 and -12 are what are suggested for a drain.

-3 and -4 for a feed line. I tapped mine above the oil filter. Many people run a restrictor in the feed line.

I run -4 feed from above the filter, and have a T on it for my oil gauge, I did have a .75 nitrous jet as a restrictor but recently took it out and no issues at all, and a -10 return back to the pan.

Kurt Urban likes a -12 drain for a big single.
