Default Need input on heat and metal brake lines.

I'm getting ready to put together my down pipe but its gonna be very close to my metal brake lines. Just wanted to see if some of you ever faced this problem and what you did about it. I'm not sure how close they can be to the exhaust without it causing a dangerous problem or boiling the fluid. Any input?

brake fluid will boil anywhere from 400-500*f, so I would say you really should look into wrapping it.

I used ATE super blue since my header runs within 1 inch of my brake lines but i also wrapped my brake lines and master cylinder and coated my headers.

My metal lines are pretty close to the down pipe. I just wrapped the down pipe in the area near the metal lines to try to keep some of the heat off the brake line. You could also ceramic coat the pipe if you wanted.

If you just wrap both and use a high temp fluid you'll be more than fine. Just make sure there is a visible gap in between the two.

I just did a spirited 5 hour drive thru the mountains with mine sunday with no issues. After i was done i checked the fluid with my finger and would say it was ~150-170 deg F. Not enough to even burn my finger.

Thank you both, very good advice. I trimmed the pinch well on the bottom of the frame rail to get the lines as far away as I could and it worked so with header wrap & better high temp brake fluid Ill def feel safe.

Funny you should ask, since I made more room for the brake lines and trimmed a little off the pinchweld on the frame rail I now have enough room for the 4" DP to fit without even denting it, I'm pretty happy with the outcome.

I would have more on the DP done but I'm waiting on HP Performance to send me 1 V band flange that I can only get from them. I ordered it 2 fridays ago on the 10th and as of monday they still havent even shipped it out. I'm a pretty patient person but my patience is starting to wear a little.
