I'm saying that if anyone is going to do SERIOUS road racing they aren't going to buy a new SC'ed Vette and have to rip all the interior, A/C, stereo, etc out of it. They can go out and have some fun with it, but not serious road racing, like as in competition. The serious racer buys a regular Vette and mods it.

Its capable out of the box, but its not gonna hang with a real road race prepped Vette or other car.

Look, its just a rip-off. $130,000 is hilarious for a 2 seat American made sports car. I'd much rather have a Mercedes SL 55 AMG, 510 hp. At least I know it won't start falling apart in 5 years like the Vette will. And it will hold value, unlike the Vette.

Its all about value and performance for me, you have to have both. $130,000for a Vette is paying about 2-3 times what its worth. The Mercedes is also over priced, but look what you're getting...a seriously built car.

And I really don't care that the Vette will beat it on a track. 99% of people that buy Vettes have never even seen a track.

Don't mean to beat up on American made cars, but its just the way it is.

Maybe, but the ZR1 comes with a warranty and a 7:22 'ring time, do that for half the price...

You must be the stupidest ******* person posting in this thread. Both the vette and the viper annihilate the porsche (and nearly every other car in the world) in every performance category conceivable, and do it for much less money.

And you must be the stupidest ******* ******* in Palm Harbor, not that there would be much competition there. Read and comprehend posts before posting. Its not just about who wins a race, its just not worth $130,000. You can build a plastic kit car that will destroy the Vette on a road course for $10,000, so what! Thats not the point. Value and quality matter.

the edit button and multi " " are your friends...next time to make the flame easier to read, use one post...

plus if it is your opinion, do you really have to defend it? if people on here flame you for it, then should you really be posting more of it up?

see how i used the edit button? it was so easy even a caveman could do it

I don't live in Palm Harbor anymore, but nice try. A mercedes is a luxury car, not a sports car. If you want a decently quick luxury car, then I agree, am AMG Mercedes is probably what you're looking for. Apples to oranges comparison. I'm positive that you have not sat in in new ZR1, so you are basing this on....? Exactly.

To LS6427
coming from personal experience on AMG's since my roomie owns one. He's had it at the dealership more than any other car i've seen. So unless you've owned an AMG or worked on it, I dont think you should be saying how awesome it holds up.

Yep, and good day to you as well, now get the **** out of the thread. You stated your opinion, quit pushing it on other people.

My opinion? Have you ever seen the repair bill on anything out of warranty for a Porsche or a Mercedes?

Well from what others are saying and what ive bben reading it wont be the LS9 in the CTS-V....
If i had to guess id say the same if not more then an LS7. so $14K.... not sure..... prob way cheaper to build your own 383 or 402 and procharge it.

Kyle

BTW if the thread keeps going way off thread ill just prune it... take that as a warning.....after the warning comes vaction times.........

just a side note for the lsa gm had released that it was going in the z28 due out in 2010 with the convertible but they have issued press releases stating they killed the project. i would rather order a dealer special ss with the ls7.

One was at Bradenton Motor Sports Park, in Bradenton, FL a few weeks ago. Went 11.4's at some stupid high MPH. Guy was a hell of a driver too. Dang thing was skating all over the place the whole time. Wont be but a few more weeks before someone has this car in the 10's. As far as tires for the car. You know someone is out there right now making tires for this beast to give the owner the edge as it deserves.

The LS9 is a hopped up LSA, BOTH engines are LS3's with bloweres and 9.1:1 CR
Not a TOTALLY different powerplant, they are actually very similar, just use SOME different parts

LS9 6.2L
638hp/604lb/ft
forged pistons/crank/main caps
rods forged titanium
2.3L TVS blower
integrated DUAL coolant to air intercooler
6600rpm rev limit

LSA
556hp/551 lb/ft
cast hyper pistons
forged crank/rods
nodular iron caps
1.9L TVS blower
integrated single coolant to air intercooler
6200rpm rev limit

here is the 6.2 Marine LSA for sale
http://www.gm.com/experience/technol...LSA_Marine.pdf

we may see a version of the LS9/LSA or maybe even LS7 in the upcomming Z28 Camaro that will trump the 09 SS.

peace
Hog
