My bad, I didn't either. Thought it was a month old thread. Not a year old. Hey at least I did a search.

Actually this is kind fo funny but I'm glad it was brought up.

I had the same problem the other day with my STS kit after I tried to punch it in high boost after being on a soaked freeway for 2hours..

I have the same SES code also. So did thinks work fine after drying everything out? Also what plenum are you guys refering to?
I am stuck at home and can't drive to work till I get this firgured out.

My truck surges when cruising on the freeway but all erratic. It might not surge for 3min then it will surge so bad it acts like it is going to stall. WOT is a no go. Maybe my FMIC has water built up in it?

that is exactly how I hurt my stock motor with the PD blower. Sucked up water. Need a proper shroud setup for wet weather...

i dunno i have had the filter down by the fog light for 4 years, never had an issue.

daily driver.

I think it's because of the half *** shield they give you. I acutally cut a hole the exact size of the tubing in my stock splashguard. so it makes it alot harder for water to get in there.

we shall see how things work out with the STS soon. car is almost ready and it's raining here these days.

Same here for me. NEVER (knock on wood) had that issue in, what, almost three or four years. Heck... I've had my Procharger so long, I can't even remember how long it's been! Let me go check my website for mods...

Ok... I got that sucker around August 2001. Found a time-slip for November 2001 when I upgraded my injectors, got headers and upped the boost:

im bringing this back from way back from the dead....im having same exact issue....went and put on a dry sock and put the filter in the fender on a stack....went as far as cutting some foam inserts to act as a sheild when it does rain just to help it that much more before i drive in the rain...another thing that was brought to my attention was the FMIC can get condinsation in the charge tank and boost blows it into the MAF and gives you some cut out etc....so the remedy to this was tap a 1/8" npt 90* elbow in the bottom of the charge tank and put a lil -4, 6" line on it and plug the end....take that off while its raining or their is big changes in humidity and the elements etc....

i just put the foam inserts around my filter....as well as cleaning the filter back off again and putting a dyrcharger sock on the bottom of it only as thats the part that is exposed...i just went on upside down on it...so it shimmys up the side halfway from the bottom...the top is pretty well tucked in...I was getting some drainage into the top of the filter by the vapor/water vent hole on the bottom of the cup in the gas gap.... the one under the cap itself...so i GOOPED it with a piece of rubber hose that leads down like a drain...as I want to keep that so my back end doesnt rust around the gas tank...i even had to go as far as sealing up some of the platstic notches that connect the fender well to the chasis....and then the hinge the gas cap was on was also leaking water down the inside of the fender where the filter is now...so top should be buttoned up...and the bottom is pretty well buttoned up as well now with the foam acting as a splash sheild....I even have a half moon splash shield under all this on the rubber 90* that goes on the turbo and shoots the filter up the well like a stack....

i still have moisture some portions of the area...have some on the dry charger on back....away from tire...so the water is hard to chase around and deflect!! I have a lil faith in the dry charger on the bottom of the most exposed area of the filter to be able to get some of that spray/mist....i do alot of intersatate driving...so lots of water!!

I had the same MAF codes and the sputtering etc!!! last time I just had a mushroom-shorty filter directly on inlet with the plate and the charger...and well...it looked like a swamp got ahold of it!! So even when she dried out she was all scewed from the filter being soaked!!!

If it's not knocking you didn't get any in your cylinders that hurt anything. Should be fine
