I would not run past 10psi even 8 until had the new hoses in there. Having them collapse is not good for the turbos or your times.

You have a stock bottom end in the car and you are running to 12psi? I would be staying at 8psi but hey its your engine Tom.
Kelliente ran 10s in her auto on stock bottom with cam. Not sure what heads she has on there. And thought at 8 or close to 8psi.

For sure you need to get 60fts down somehow. Did you get and hook up a two step yet?

I have not hooked mine up since can't really see any point hooking it to the clutch right now when just going to be ripping the clutch out in spring to do the auto swap.
And season is over up here..track closed months ago in september. Don't open again till think june or may. Short season at our tracks.

So you will likely get kicked off at 11.5 if its nhra track and maybe won't get a chance to go 10s? Your mph is certainly enough to touch the tens.

my shortblock does have some things to hold it together arp rod bolts, 317 heads with arp studs it has been holding up very well so far.
im still in iraq but i have the 2-step on top of all the other little things meth, eboost2
for the inlet tubes ill fix that as well. 99ta we have talk about that all ready
for the nhra rules ill get the car up to par when its up to speed. no need for the cage just yet

Tom, thats exctly what I m talking about. With just the 2 step, (and traction) you ll probably go low 1.7s pretty easy, then 1.6's....and first high 10's then mid 10's.

Im headed to oceanside tonight probably.....

realy oceanside, what are you doing down there?
but im looking forward to my next time at the track. ive seen guys go faster with less there is no reason that car shouldnt go in to the tens!

now can you/ have you use the 2-step when shifting. like just hold the gas down push in the clutch and slam gears. beacause thats one of the other thing i have issuse with last time at the track it was just granny shifting the car im going to get on of the new trick performance MS as well to fix that
FYI i have a tex z-grip

1320 keep the info coming or any other ideas? what is your total timing at the line with the 2-step on? you said it was 14 degess of retard from the 2-step

Yes , you can powershift it, it just goes agaist the 2 step, so rpm actually falls. No fear of over reving due to a missed gear. The other up side is that boost never falls. Without it, when you shift there is a small amount of time that boost falls off and builds back up...not much but alittle. With the 2 step it doesnt fall at all. As soon as you release the clutch you ll have full boost, instead of building back.

We just put in the 1500 hp mcleod twin, so hopefully it will stay together. I just drove it last night for the first time. Drives nice.
I dont know the total timing, I havnt looked at the log, and i dont know the load point while on the 2 step. I tried pulling less timing, and it did NOT work. Well, it worked, just not near as fast. With the big retard it ignites the dead cylinder (raw fuel) in the exhuast, throws flames out , smoke out, and puts alot of instant heat in the exhuast, closer to the turbos.

Total timing is in the 17 degree area, on 91 octane. The 60 lb injectors are already at 100 % duty cycle, so Im looking into more injector and hopefully e85, but so far I cant get an injector big enough, with out going low impedence, then a megasquirt or driver box etc....
I love it if some one would make a high impedence 96.....lb hr injector or even bigger, maybe 115-120 lb hr..... I guess Im just not smart enough to make 1500 rwhp on just 8 72's..(old joke)

Ok Tom you have things pretty covered .Those heads drop compression a bit .Just that the weak links are the pistons mainly in the stock blocks. Any detonation and they are bye bye. Have a few in the garage from buddies cars as souvenirs.

Did you hook up your eboost with dual solenoids? Did you hook it up as they show in method 1 in the instructions ? Any problems with that? Mine is still stuck at customs and not sure now will get to drive the car with the eboost2 in there this season winter is coming quick now up here.

I think that two step does let you do no lift to shift as well. And of course the antilag thing should let us build pretty good boost combined with the two step. and keep it spooled between shifts. Sure you will get your numbers once the 60fts come down.

You guys are so lucky to be in California such great weather all year..well a bit hot in summer..I was there did the Disneyland trip this summer. Didn't take my ta down though just the new minivan.

The Vette 1320 did has some great potential. I think they finally got the reliability issues worked out with the drive train now. I'm glad I took his advice when he did my setup. I have not had any drive train issues The rear mount Vette is very fast and will go 10's on a clean pass, then it will probably get faster

As for the two step get one. I tried out my ST80 in neutral just to see how it would work on a 6 spd car. With 5 degrees total timing in it at 3300 rpms I could build 5-6 psi in 3-4 pops.

If you are a 6spd car and plan on drag racing you NEED a two step with timing retard.

i live 20mins from Milan Dragway
socal is all 1/8th mile gay s..t LOL
1320 i take it you have a STS setup?
i have a APS kit , im wondering how it will work with the turbos next to the engine and not way in the back? better/worst

how will the turbos take the backfires as well. alot of us are not having much luck with these things
i was thinking how will 5500 rpm set on the 2-step work off the line could one make full boost (what ever that is set at) with a high rpm?

Ok didn't realize you haven't installed that stuff yet..me either. So you should get some boost for sure from the two step..you have sit there and let it build up and that antilag should let you leave at pretty much full boost. It will work just fine on your turbos.
It is used all the time on front mounts rear mounts have only come on the scene since sts started doing them.

My 97 talon and race talon both have two step, antilag and no lift to shift on the 97 its standard the race 91 is auto. I have not finished up my 91 auto but the 97 I have played with the two step,no lift to shift and not much with the antilag but guys leave at like 20 plus psi with their front mount dsms and some run the same turbos 20gs course only 1 of them not two like we have.

I would not use it all the time.It could be hard on the turbo all the time and it does shoot flames out the back so not the best thing in bumper to bumper city traffic..! LOL but might get tailgaters off your ***! LOL

It will work good once you play with it. And the eboost has capability for gear and rpm boost control which should also work good. I am anxious to try mine but its stuck at the border or some bs. Well we have blizzard up here today, roads are pure ice and my 99 is safe in the garage and likley this is it now until spring. Too bad couldn't get my toys and get it finished up a month or so earlier. Oh well time to buy the last big mods and be ready for spring and live thur my other aps brohs like Tom! You gou get that 10 Tom ! I know you can.
I will be pleased with 10s but secretly hoping to hit a high 9 like JM did since our builds are pretty similar I think.

10s is stupid fast for a sane street car. 9s is ridiculous and under 9s well ..

I will really miss hearing my twins spooling for the next four months of winter. Usually get it back out april 1 sometimes end march if really lucky.

You guys are spoiled down there!

thanks 99ta i know it will
and yes socal is soiled but look on the up side you have down time to get things together
and i bet you will get in to the 9s with all you have going on. and like you said you can alwas hit it with a 100 shot. LOL

for the eboost rpm and gear opiton how can that help?
im just going to set it for my max boost i want and then just run it in every gear
or is it more about getting a car to hooking up?

i get back in march as well how cool is that

one more thing 99ta how do you like that cam in your car im run a 04 ZO6 cam right now
have not used it to its max just yet i dont take my car over 6000 rpm because of the high boost but when it is i want to be ready with something else
thanks guys for all the info

Yeah rpm and gear options are to help you get traction.More progressive boot.

I think my cam is fine. I have 1.8 so it takes specs up to 210/232/590/590/121 lsa

Here is comparison to ling and z06 cams
02-03 ZO6 cam: 204/218 .551/.547 -117.5 LSA
Lingenfelter GT2-3 207/220 .571/.578 –118.5CL

05-07 ZO6 cam 210/230 .561/.557 –120.5 LSA
Lingenfelter GT7 208/230 .554/.546 –121CL

These are at 1.7 specs. You should simply add 1.8 rockers its no problem I think on the stock cams and you would get more like 206/220 580 580/ 117. More lift is good but I like to stay under 600 for reasons of valve float under boost and you dont' have to change out valves springs as often. I like no lope didn't want any lope this time around.
And my cam or yours has no lope.
I plan on think running 6500 daily redline and maybe go to 7000 for 1/4 mile runs when gong for my hang on the wall times. I am hoping to get a high 9 like JM did at near 140. That would be awesome and should be doable. But really anything 10s will please me a lot too and anything 130mph plus.

So you get back in march...I am already a bit bored and its only been a few days since driving the car. We have snow here now pretty good blizzard yesterday not that much snow but sure was icy. Glad car is in the garage. It might get slightly warmer again next day or so and who knows might get to drive it possibly once or twice more bu not holding my breath.

And yeah winter is good time to order and do more mods and I have all that stuff to order and install. Most of it is simple though the engine install and buld and the turbo install of course was a lot of work and glad its behind me. I do have to yank those turbos out in january or so and get the one fixed and will ceramic coat the exhuast manifolds and possibly the turbo exhaust housings at same time. Still not sure if going to just stay same or try to get the turbos upgraded. I don't really need more power but getting same at lower boost is always fine with me. Would like to see a few more of the upgraded turbos on 408 or 402 at some different boost levels. I am not overly worried about hitting an exaxct power goal as can make up some difference with spray. I will be getting the think its 75 to 300 shot but no intention of going 300 more like 75 to 100. Just enough to supercool the intake charge and really spin up the turbos. Its common to get a bigger bang for the buck with spray anyway so a 75 shot on the turbo car could maybe give 125 actual gain. See that a lot on dsm cars.

thanks for the specs i have them all ready LOL iwas more in to your felling on it when you drove your car. i know you didnt get to boost it too high because of the lack of gas

i was looking at EPP turbo cam it might be alittle on the big side but i do like the lope just alittle bit
what is the LSA on the gt-7?

I think cl and lsa are basically the same thing. There is zero lope on my cam and thats fine ,had some lope on my 346 cam don't need it. This cam pulls high vacuum like 18 inches. But yeah that 115 might lope a bit I think its a 115?
So yeah I have not gone wot to 6500 even but have gone part throttle to 6000 or so in the first couple gears. I am happy with my cam and no intention of changing it. As said its under 600 lift so should be good on springs.keep me a bit farther away from any valve float at 7000 max track rpm and mean I dont have to change springs every 40,000 or sooner. I was originally going to go with the gt11 that aps used in their build. But higher lift so for reasons above didn't go with it. I might go with it if had a 427 build.

Well just got package in mail my new triple pack of aeroforce intercepters are here!! They are really cool gauges might want to check them out on aerforce site.
I can feed in my plx wideband and they accept sensors for fuel pressure, egt, nitrous,
etc so don't need anymore gauges than these and they can all scan any parameter two at a time simultaniously and can even give basic 1/4 mile et and mph don't think 60ft but have a different unit like a gtech that use to run my car off the track and to tune it.

Worried now where the hell my eboost 2 and other supersonic turbosmart blow off is.I know it was at customs but its taking forever to show up. Might have to call and see whats the hold up. Should have been here already.

Too bad this stuff is showing up a bit too late to play with it. But lots of time to get it installed for spring. Think will get my three gauge pod painted to match my interior.

Dollar dropped against the US dollar again so now think have to hold off on the bigger stuff for a bit and hope it goes the other way. Fuel system is for sure 100% no matter what the dollar is but the rear end and new trans and stall can wait a bit .

Might even be able to make the stock rear end last a bit with the auto trans.
