Magnacharger on a stock LS1

Magnacharger on a stock LS1 I've searched, but not really found the answers i'm looking for. I'm in the process of swapping an ls1 into my firebird. Later on down the line i'd like to add a magnacharger to the setup. I know the general consensus are a procharger/turbo/nitrous are better at the track, but i'm just trying to build a fun street car.
Anyway, would i be able to add a maggy to a stock engine and be ok with some good tuning, or do some internals need to be replaced? I don't even need to run very high boost. 7psi would be enough. I could always do a rebuild later if i want more.

You can add a maggie to your stock setup without changing any internals, but definitely don't go above 7psi. With a maggie on 7psi, headers, good exhaust, and good tuning you could be at 460+rwhp. With heads, cam, bolt-ons, and a good tune, you could easily top 525+rwhp, but it's your ride and $6,600 is a lot to shell out for the maggie alone. You could add to the kit later as time and money allow.

You definitely can bolt a Magnacharger to your stock engine. That's not the route I'd go, but people have done it and I'm sure it's a great street setup. Do a search, there are quite a few threads, vids, and pics here about Maggie's on LS1's.

I know heads and cam would benefit it more than just on a stock engine...but i don't have the money to dump on doing everything at once. Besides, after a point i have to start looking at rear-ends and tranny's and forged parts...so that's even more expense. I just enjoy the low end tq you get from a roots style blower.
