how bad would it be with long tubes and 3 in exhaust? I figured Lt's would get things out of the engine and to the turbo faster. I can see how 3in exhaust flows too free. but im not grasping the header deal.

lt's let out too much heat...the stockies retain the heat, along with an exhaust wrap (which i need to do) its a cheap easy mod...and from what ive read it works....im just too lazy to buy it and crawl under the car and do it....lol

My headers are ceramic coated. Whould the coating plus the wrap be ok?

Zombie has a ton of posts on what works and what doesnt work with the sts system and until your pushing massive amounts of power the best bet is still the stock manifolds wrapped. Search for his posts and you will see what im talking about. I hear you on the reasoning about getting more exhaust out faster with the LT's but it doesnt seem to work well with the STS setup.

I'm not sure I understand your problem.I only make 437RWHP with a single T70 front mount @ 8#s of boost and no lock up during dyno runs.Motor is dead stock LS1 with stock exhaust.Later I added cutouts and the car ran 11.26 @ 127 in total street trim.For a stock LS1 I'm happy as I know with more traction I would be in the 10s,and you're making more power then me.

As you say.The launch is the whole deal.You have enough power for 9s.I only ran Nitto DRs and will upgrade to M&Ts.Can't wait to go forged and a 88.
