Default LS6 cam for turbo 421? or bigger

I have seen some awesome results with this cam on here, Im building a 421 w/ L92 heads turbocharged, track/street driven hoping for around the area of 1100hp. Would the LS6 cam do it or hold me back at all or should I just get a cam bigger ground for turbos? Im just thinking the not so radical lift will be easier on the valvetrain increasing efficiency. ? Input??
Thanks.

The LS6 will work in a 421, but it is pretty darn small. I would got with at least a 224/230//578/588//116 for a 421.

Not to highjack but who does a good job of specing custom turbo cams?
I know who I like on the N/A and nitrous side but I am moving to the darkside and am not sure where to turn?

Anyone else have any input? Why is the cam too small? Isnt there like 8 second cars running it?

I do not know of any 8 second cars running one. The amount of duration is very small and will have a hard time feeding a 421 in the upper RPM range. It can be used, but it will not make close to the power of a larger cam. The bigger the motor, the more duration and lift is needed to feed it.

I mean yeah it will work but when you have that much money is building a 421ci motor whhy would you just put such a baby cam in it. There would be so much more to be gained by doing something larger and that is speced for your application. You will need to run big springs on a boosted motor anyways so why not out a bigger cam in it.

dount that highly. 2002and up Z06's rev quite high (7000) and peak pretty high up in their rpm range. These motors love rpm...and that one of the reasons why they are awesome

The '02+ ls6 cam is working fine in my neighbor's Escalade with a turbo. AWD launches at 7#'s of boost have destroyed a 4l65 and two 4l80 transmissions. That being said, I don't know how much the cam is holding back power potential, because his fuel system is only good to 6krpm. I have a feeling that cam will be inadequate for much more than what his motor is doing now.

Seems like you would want considerably more duration to help fill the cylinders more with that extra CID.

My Ls6 cam works really nice for its application. No complaints.
