Default Cheap boost

99 Trans-am with 89,000 miles . Me and my 13 year old nephews build. his G-daddy owns a LARGE salvage yard. Cheap parts if there's no demand for them. He wants to road race.It has to be rear mount because of heat and 50/50 (zip it unless it`s brillant). I can fab and know my pimped out air pumps like a Arab know's drag camels. Dazzle me with what I don't know about a cheap boosted lS1's on pump gas. Ingenuity is what we`re looking for. He will not learn anything with the bolt on routine.

Peace, Love and a Jesus blessed 60 foot to all

cheep and boost dont play well together on a ls1
or if by cheap you mean 5-6k$ range
youre better off building a budget big cube motor.
take a salvage yard 6.0 lq4, mill the heads, and fs forum cam, whatever u can find for 300$ shipped and supporting mods.
or just mill the heads and keep stock cam intact with upgraded springs and rod bolts on the 6.0 engine

``cheap and boost dont play well together on a ls1`` EXPLAIN and dont say hypereutectic cause i`ll say 317`s and no more than 13psi. Also a motor swap is the biggest bolt on. Please none of that cause it would be just as easy to JATO it.

for starters its
600- tune
400- inj.
300 fuel pump ugrade
100-300 valve springs upgrade
100 +/- oil pump
100 rod bolts upgrade
fuel/engine system upgrades that are needed if you dont want to grenade your motor

300+/- remote oil pump,harnes,plumbing
300 wg
300+/- fmic and plumbing,couplers, clamps
thats close to just 2k right there and those are just supporting mods.
then u gotta rebuild any turbo you can score from the jy
holsets off cummins work nice, and the exhaust plumbing, wrap for exhaust plumbing
i guess if you really needed to , a budget system could be rigged together,
say 3k$ would be a good starting point for entry level

hes right cheap and boost dont play well together especially when it comes to turbos. you spend more money up front on turbos but they will be easier on your parts and last you longer. but i maen it honestly depends on what your power levels are. i mean if you plan on running more then 10lbs on a stock motor then your going to want to switch to some forged internals, a good set of heads, a good cam etc etc. its like the saying goes fast, cheap, reliable put 2 of them together and the other doesnt apply. so what are your power goals?
