Cruising gears question What gears are you guys in when cruising at 60mph ?
70mph ?
After I did my turbo set up, car likes 5th gear better than 6th. 6th feels a little luggish.
I assume its from a drop in compression.
I'm using 6.0 truck heads to drop mine.
Just curious what gears you prefer to cruise the highway in doing 60 and 70mph

I have 3.25 gears and an 8.6:1 motor. I still cruise in 6th at those speeds. 70mph is about 1400rpm. But if I want to speed up at all I have to down shift. It will also lose speed if going up hill in 6th.

I found when I took my v-6 setup from stock heads/mild cam to stage 3 heads stage 3 cam it was MUCH pickier when rolling/cruising on the highway. I don't know about the v-8 PCMs but I was able to tweak my AE fuel and timing tables to gain some power when rolling/cruising which got rid of the "shudder" if you want to call it that.
