Default How much timing?

I have a 6.0L motor running about 8.8:1 CR with compstar rods, diamond pistons, ported 317 heads and a custom remote mount turbo system with a p-trim 76mm turbo. I have the shift point set up at 5400 rpm for now but will probably raise it to 5800.

I recently freshened up the bottom end and am slowly adding more boost. I am currently running 8-9 psi but will be going up to 15 this summer. I have a meth system which I will also be installing this summer.

My question is how much timing is safe to run at these boost levels? Should I run more timing and more fuel or less timing and less fuel? I try to keep the AFR around 10.8-11.3.

Right now I have the timing going from 15 degrees at max torque and then ramping the timing up to 17 degrees at redline.

Different people approach this different ways. What you have there is very common to how I would tune that combo. Some people may run more timing and less boost to achieve the same horsepower number, and vice versa.

So would you not add any more timing at my current boost level?

Well it depends on what you want to do. You can add boost or timing untill you reach where you want to be horsepower wise. Does it matter if its boost only, timing only, or a mixture of both? I dont think it matters which way you tackle it.

In order of power production it goes boost, then timing then afr. So more boost and less timing is going to give more power. Upping timing seems to really help torque but that might not be that desirable depending on how strong your driveline is.

You can of course run more timing and or boost with alc injection.
