Default Am I alone in hidden charge from APSshippment

I bought some heavy duty replacement hoses and some extra stuff last month and have gotten a bill from UPS for $65 on top of the bill from APS that I paid up front before they shipped my package. Am i alone in these extra hidden US fees that UPS says i owe them ? I agued with the UPS lady for a 1/2 last week asking why they delivered ,,,then charged me ?She said it was a border fee or some ****If i would have known it was as much as it was i would have refused the package and let APS eat it because i paid them almost close to $100 for shipping alone if im correct Im just wondering if i should just blow UPS off or pay it APS should have said something before hand to on this hidden charge!!just wondering if im alone and if UPS can even do anything if i blow them off

i got hammered on a "customs" fee when i purchased 2 convo pros from a guy in canada. i paid paypal'd him for the items and to ship them to me. when ups delivered them to me they hit me up on a $55.00 customs charge. luckily i got the seller to split the charge with me. from now on i buy from within the states.

Its not APS fault UPS are cheap crooks. If you don't pay it don't think they can ever collect it but you might not be able to recieve goods from them in the future. Its likely their basic brokerage fee they slap on just about everything.

I hate UPS as do most people. Very unfair. Where are you located again barnat?

I will be gettings some inlet hoses also likley in a month or so unless stent the current ones somehow.
Still not too happy we had to pay for the upgraded ones and wonder if they are included in the newest kits.

OP hasn't answered where he lives?

We've brought in plenty of shipments from APS, no customs charges have been given to us

I wouldn't necessarily call UPS crooks, they did give me a way to "modify" the billing for cross border fees. Something Fed ex doesn't offer. PM me if you want more information.

I recently sent a package to Canada by ups though paypal cost was about the same the no real problems only strange thing was once it was across the border they refunded my shipping cost then took it back a few days later I did not have any extra fee though might be do to me having a business account but dont know.

When they shipped my kit(s) via BAX global, they (BAX) hit me with a 250 dollar customs fee.

Nothing I could do if I wanted the product. APS had nothing to do with it.

I live in Canada, so pretty much everything I get online has fees.

Anything from the states (depending on what value the seller lists it as) is charged 13% tax when it crosses the border plus a $5 handling fee.

However, sometimes (again depending what is written on the box) of if customs is feeling good that day, sometimes things pass through without getting any fees. But for 90% of the packaged I get, it is taxed, so I always assume when I buy something from a different country that there will be fees.

they dont let stuff just pass by them depending on the mood. its like saying the government was nice to me and didnt charge me for taxes this year. people have figured out if you put gift on the shipping order, they cant charge you anything. i refuse to do that for the fact that if it gets lost, guess who takes the hit on it (me).

Well then likely UPS has charged its brokerage fee since the inlets come from australia just like they charge this brokerage fee when we get stuff from UPS to canada.
Fedex pretty sure only charges gst to canada and not provincial at least to me in my province. UPS does not charge pst only gst. GST is national sales tax.
Canada post when it comes from USPS seems to be more sporadic sometimes charging pst and gst l,sometimes they seem to mess up.
The only way to win with UPS is to get multiple or bigger items. The brokerage is pretty much limited to 80 bucks I think the ups guy explained. Also if its small and light if you get it ups express which costs more than they don't charge brokerage just the gst I think.
