Default PolyTech cog belts

Anyone run a belt from these guys?

http://shop.polybelt.com/category.sc?categoryId=65

A gentleman in the EPP Warhawk/F1R C6Z thread was kind enough to post a link to their website and they offer the "in-between" belt sizes that I need. The Gates GT2 jumps from 1512 up to 1584. The 1512 works, but is way too tight for my tastes. The 1584 is too long to even work with my 45T/81T combo. PolyTech offers a 1552 and 1560, either of which would work. I just don't know anything about them and wonder if the quality is up to snuff. Seems that the GT2 belts are the new standard.

Any info is much appreciated!

Here is the response I received from PolyTech.

"Thanks for your email. Our belt would have about 20% less tensile strength and would give you less life than your belt."

Now I need to decide whether or not it's worth a shot. I almost feel that I have to, given that my current belt is really too tight for a cog application IMHO.
