Steel J-Bracket for procharger... which company!? So I was looking into the steel J-Bracket and I see two company's mentioned while searching. Automotion which I haven't seen referenced for about 5 years, and this company that has one on their website. Is one better then the other? Did they change company names? Should I just order it here? http://truetechperformance.com/page/...o-charger.html |
Whats wrong with the aluminum one? |
Flex. |
How much boost are you running? Seems like a crock to me. I'm sure there is SOME flex, but more from the spacers than the bracket itself. |
im not seeing any flex in mine im just saying that why you would want a steel bracket |

I just bought one recently from True Tech, it seems very nice. Kurt |
I had two SDCE setups, one with the aluminum and one with the steel bracket. I switched between them a couple times and there was never any difference I seen really. With the stock 6 or procharger 8 rib where you have to tighten the crap out of the belt it may help some. A little hint is to take the aluminum bracket and drill another hole and use an extra bolt to hold the blower on, you dont even have to countersink it. That really helps out the stock J-bracket. |
we make a steel j bracket for the f body cars,here a couple pics of the prototype we made a while back.the stands are also 4130 chromoly http://i256.photobucket.com/albums/h...1-23-09032.jpg http://i256.photobucket.com/albums/h...1-23-09033.jpg http://i256.photobucket.com/albums/h...1-23-09034.jpg http://i256.photobucket.com/albums/h...23-09035-1.jpg |
How much? FWIW, a nice brace from the block to the J bracket will pretty much eliminate flex. Its cheap too. |

that looks bad ass!! how much for the bracket and cog set up?? |
The true tech bracket has served me well for many years. |
Nice Shawn, for some reason that looks very familiar... |
Is that bracket spaced out more than the factory ATI bracket? The cog looks quite a bit wider than my 8 rib pulley, and mine *almost* touches the alternator pulley as it is, if the blower came forward anymore it would be inside the radiator... |

The j bracket normally sells for 139.95,if i could get orders for 10 or more i would be willing to drop that down to 120.00,the assembly with the stands, and hardware is $400.00-the stands can be made for 6,8,10 rib belts as well as a cog setup. |
