Default Want to hit 550rwhp

I want to try and hit my goal of 500-550rwhp with my setup but it don`t seem like many people are doing it with the TTi kit whats so differant about the TTi kit that makes it harder to hit the 500hp mark, other then the bigger turbo, the Qmp kit can come close to 500hp on a relitivly stock motor? What do I need to change to make it to my goal? I know i`ll need a bigger turbo then the 60-1 I have now, which is on order. What else will I need. Im having problems getting the motor to take any timing now without detonation but i think i`m running the little 60 out of it`s efficency range causing alot of heat so i think the bigger turbo will help take care of that, then i can hopefully get more then 15* timing out of it at peak TQ and 9:1 compression. how much do you think heads, cam and the bigger turbo will net me? plus any suggestion about tunningthe timing would be appreciated. thanks.

What are the specs of the turbo you ordered, and what size is the downpipe?

I'm assuming that kit uses a decent sized air/air IC?

The turbo is the T76 from turbonetics I also ordered a 3in DP with the turbo. Thanks.

Somebody told me by putting a second wastegate, strangley located on the passenger side they picked up another 60rwhp and engine temperatures droped, and the pressure ratio improved also, that might help you out.

id like to see if putting a better intercooler would help out, that griffin looks awfully good.

SMOKINHAWK, I was also kinda curious about the intercooler that seems to be the only substantial differance between our kits and the Qmp kit. with the wastegate do you remove the one thats there and put one on the pass. side manifold or do you leave both on. I`m also having my exhaust reworked soon I`m going with the 3inch DP to a 4inch pipe that splits into two 2.5inch pipes with bullit mufflers that dump right in front of the axle. Do you think this will gain me any top end? Thanks.

ya it should give you some top end. What i would do to save weight and make the most HP possible is put a cutout right after the DP, then take the rest, when the cutout is closed and use a 3" to a muffler, whether it be a turndown or whatever.
no real sense in using 4" if you only come out of a 3" then to a 2", it would probably pick up some HP from you current set up, but it sounds like a little wastefull.
I tell you putting that cutout right after the DP makes a world of differences

from what ive heard about the wastegate is you leave the one that came with it alone, and add another (deltagate, i presume) on the passenger side?
Im eager to try it but probably wont get till next spring. Im gonna give TT a call and ask a little more about it.
