I'm actually making a catch can out of my AC dryer. I gutted it and going to weld it back up. So I should put something inside to baffel it before I weld it back up? Once its welded there will be no way of getting things in or out, besides the small drain in the bottom.

You want something to baffel the oil so it cant get pulled out in to the turbo.
I made my own can and just put a piece of oil absorbet mat in the bottom of mine. I can also unscrew the top of mine and change the mat, so you would want something inbetween the can inlets and the hose to the turbo.

Any one else have any info on useing the blower as a vacume pump? I thought about doing this too but was concerned about the crankcase gases causing detonation.

An empty can with inlet/outlet ports is not an effective catch can design. Go to http://www.saikoumichi.com and look at his designs. His design is very effective.
