Default decisions, decisions...... need some suggestions

long story short.....1st part.. have a 2004 silverado ss with 120,000mi on the ticker, and the engine still feels strong, and this truck is my daily driver. tranny is getting a little weak, but isn't bad at all.
also have a 2002 ls1/t56 setup with 50,000 miles on it and is in great shape.

now getting to the point.... building up a 1991 300zx for street/mostly toy strip car, and wanting to go fi. opinions on should i use the ls1 pretty much leaving it stock with boost, or build the lq9 for it, and put the ls1 in the truck w/o boost???? i know all the gurus will say the lq9 will be better for the boost being iron block and so forth, but if i go lq9 in the 300zx, it will be all out. ls1 in the 300zx will be stock with boost.

just wanting some input from the masses....

That aluminum LS1 will work just fine with boost. I'd go for the lighter weight of the aluminum block in the 300zx. Bob

i would use the ls1 to put in the 300zx and leave the motor in the truck

thx for the suggestions guys. the ls1 only has 52k miles on it, and is in great shape. have talked with shane, and angie over at thunder, and are looking at a tr224 cam.may end up going with some spray. around a 150 shot. i still like fi better though. going to also be putting a moates roadrunner in aswell. i think the end reasult will be something i can live with. still would like to find a good lq4/lq9 to build along the way.

was thinking of running a single turbo in the place of the stock battery location. sits it right on the firewall on the passengers side. as the title states. decisions, decisions....


twin sts may fit the bill nicely too...
