Cam with less duration on the exhaust side than the intake side? Would it be better if they used a larger duration on the exhaust side to spool the turbo faster?

I think all FI cars should have more exhast duration than intake.... But i wanted to know why did i see few turbo owners using a cam with a larger intake than exhaust..... Whats their explanation?

maybe they have reworked heads and the exhaust valve is larger, or maybe the exhaust lift is higher, or maybee its just what they wanted to try with there conditions to see if it worked, a cam is a fareley basic component to play with and make big power differences, what's everybody else think?

the cam is basic in nature but nowhere near basic to get right

reason why you keep the exhaust duration a little lower is to keep velocity higher in the exhaust port and that in turn translates to faster spool times

I see, but for example, wouldn't a 230 exhaust duration flow more than lets say 220 exhaust duration giving the same lift? If the 230 is going to flow more then it would spool the turbo faster than the 220 right? How come a smaller duration has more velocity?

with smaller duration, it could build more pressure possibly, therefore moving the air quicker. more flow at a slower velocity doesnt mean quicker than a somewhat smaller amount of flow with a quicker velocity....
(just guessing in the dark... im sure someone will correct/add/whatever )
