Default Been Thinking bout DIY Procharger??!!

Well mods are in my sig. I have done a DIY rearmount which worked great but money was tight so I sold it. I am now going back to a boosted Application. I was thinking about buying a procharger head unit and brackets and fab up everything else my self incluing fmi.

My goal is around 475-500 rwhp.

What would be a good reliable head-unit to use to make this power and at what boost levels?

I do not have rod bolts what would you guys do?

Thanks guys

ProCharger eight rib piece parts.

For 475 to 500 rwhp, both the P-1SC and D-1SC head units will work. There is no need to replace rod bolts at this horsepower level. Generally, if something internally were to go wrong, it would be a piston breaking a ring land. The wider belt of the eight rib kit will give you a lot more reliability over the six rib kit, plus the eight rib crank pulley is 7.65 in diameter instead of the six ribs 6.0" diameter, which means that with the larger crank pulley, the head unit pulley will be larger, giving better belt wrap. No it won't. The six rib ProCharger crank pulley has three pins that fit into the factory balancer, plus it has to mate up flush to the balancer.
The eight rib ProCharger crank pulley requires the use of an aftermarket balancer made by ATI Performance Products, and uses three bolts to bolt the blower crank pulley to the balancer. Bob

I completed a DIY Procharger setup recently (with some of Bob's help!), and it was a pretty fulfilling experience. I am kind of a newb when it comes to fabrication (if you can call it that), but with a little research and bargain hunting, I got 650RWHP for a decent price. Let me know if you have any questions, and I'll try to point you in the direction of some of the ways I saved money.
