Default Knockoff Exhaust wrap? Anyone?

I know there are some things to bean count on and some things not to. This to me just seems like one of those places you can kind of cut a corner and not cause any damage, so just wondering if anyone is running the generic stuff and how it works vs the price.

I have found 2"x50' on the bay for $25 bout half the price of 25' of HEI, just wondering if the stuff will work and hold up.

I had gotten some a year ago and worked great for the price. Mine started tearing up from abuse and i didnt use the heat wrap spray that you are supossed to but should last if you take care of it

I used the cheap stuff when I wrapped my pipes when I had the STS on the truck. About 1 1/2 to 2 years, it started coming apart on the crossover. Then when I built my front mount, I used a DEI kit with the silicone spray and now about 2 years later, it's getting weak and starting to come apart in places, so I don't think it makes a big difference. I doubt there are may guys on here that DD there turbo stuff as much or in as bad of conditions as I do, so there is some "real" world DD examples for you.

i fully header wrapped my remote pipes front to rear ,and covered the header wrap with HVAC aluminum/SS FOIL tape about 3 years ago....it hasnt lost a strand of the wrap!!...occasionally the foil tape will fray from the adhesive failing but a fresh piece on top and a hose clamp and its all good!!...i use this car almost everyday rain or shine...i do not worry about waterlogging the header wrap because the rain cannot penitrate the foil tape.
