Default MP-T70 with a .68 A/R....will this work?

Looking at a master power T70 thats a great deal, with a .68 A/R. I know it is small on the A/R for my 6.0 L92 motor (unported) , but just trying to get QUICK spooling power in the mid 500 - 600 RWHP range. Can this turbo with .68 A/Rachieve 550-600 at the wheel? I dont mind limiting the motor to 5000-5500 rpm range, car has 3.31 with a 4l80od. Or will the A/R be way to restrictive. PLease let me know, can get the turbo for a great deal

Buy the turbo, then buy a new exhaust housing like a 91 A/R

The .68 housing is to small, may get away with it on a rear mount but not a front mount. Would swap housings to a .81 for rearmount and .96 for front mount.

Should do 500 rwhp plus, 600 would be pushing the boost a bit for an unopened motor.

A bigger turbo like a MPT 76 or TC 76 or 78 would meet your goals easier and at lower boost.

I picked it up, $300 new in the box. If i stick to a less agressive tune for now, say 525-550 RWHP, will the .68 A/R exhaust be ok? Im sure it will spool super quick, which is a good thing for a street driver. I was researching the .68 vs the .96 A/R dyno results on the MP-70 from parish's turbo fairmont, and they didn't seem to be all that different, looking at the dyno curve. Granted this was on a 5.3, but the difference was 11hp. It did breath a little better from 5000-6000 rpm, which is to be expected. I can always try it and switch the exhaust housings later i guess, for now i can use it for fabricating and to get the car up and running.

rear mount you may get away with it, front mount way to small, get a .96 housing.

You should be able to pick up a new .96 housing for around $130.

I ran a .68 t70 on my 5.7 front mount and made some where in the neighborhood of 550 in my truck (ran 12.2@110.5 at 4800', 5200lbs race weight. Spool was really good. I'd run it and see how you like if first. Stock48 ran a 10.6 in a 4800 lbs 4x4 reg cab truck with a cam and ported stock head 6L at 4800' elevation with a .68 A/R on a TC76.

That setup will work just fine, I ran a .68 on my Front mount and turned 533rwhp 548rwtq. It spooled around 2500rpm on 8.5psi
