Default What Boost Gauge?

Hello to all,

I'm in the market for a Boost gauge. How accurate are the Autometer electric boost gauges or is the mechanical gauge just as good? I don't mind spending the money for the electric gauge, I just wanted to see if anyone had any more problems with one or than the other. Thanks!

according to autometer they told me their electric gauges are always more accurate. Im running a sport comp 2 boost guage.

All my guages are electric.

I am running one. A 6359 boost /vac. It does not behave like an analog gauge. When I hit the throttle I don't see boost come on. First thing I see is three, four, it might jump to six and then to eight. My vacuum tap to the Autometer is off the brake booster.

So you're saying that the mechanical gauge reacts quicker?

The mechanical gauges are very good. Nothing at all wrong with them. I ran one for years. I am now running the autometer nexus gauges which are all electrical, but I'm doing that for other reasons such as the warning lights, the capability to change the background color, recording abilities, etc. If you don't need all those bells and whistles and just want something to look at that will tell you boost at that moment in realtime, then go mechanical and save the money.
