I dunno, I sure as HECK don't use 5gal in a month (more like 4-5months) and that's how I buy it... I keep it inside though in a cool dry environment.

it lasts longer than that...my buddy had some sitting around for 3 months and still used it and no problems in his turbo buick. just keep it in a jazz jug in a cool, dry environment like frost said and you should be alright.

It came with the Vette I just bought, it's been opened for a year, but its still in the VP Racing can, lid is on, of course

I don't see how it could go bad with the cap on, maybe just a CYA for VP Racing?

Being used strictly as fuel, I'd have concerns with it getting "old", but using it as a cooling agent and fuel in as small quantities, you shouldn't ever have any problems with "aged" methanol. The reason is meth attracts and bonds with water, so once you crack the seal, and expose it to air, it starts to attracts water. Since your using it as an additive to cool boost and add a little fuel and octane, you should never have any problems with "old" meth.
