Default how to install studs????

Maybe this is mechanics 101 that I skipped or something but is there a specific way to install studs besides just screwing them in, do i need to put a jam nut on them and torque them down or anything)

I'm talking about the exhaust manifold studs. that go into the heads, and the ones that go between the turbos and other places on the APS kit.

Thanks!

Just screw them in. No need to torque them down or anything. The point of the studs is to get full thread purchase.

I screwed them in and they get tightened when you put the nut on and torque them. But be sure to go back and check them once in a while. I rechecked mine this spring when I did my oil change and found a few that were loose to the point where I could tighten them with my fingers. So I went and rechecked them all at that point and found a couple more. All the others were still tight though.

Really??!?!?!? I find that hard to believe. Where they installed correctly and to the right spec?

I followed all the directions that came with the kit when I put it together. And I had 2 or 3 I found that were loose this spring. Retightened them and have continued DDing it in the nice weather. I should go check them again when I do my plugs to see if they stayed tight this time. But the car had ~16k miles put on it from the original install to this spring when I discovered them.

Make sure to use the grease on the washers or you wont get an accurate torque reading.
